Like most ppl, I did read this forum and as much as I could on the net before I made my choice in what exactly to purchase for vaping. So I want to know what product did you choose and why?

For me I had narrowed it down to 3:

Blu - Thought I heard this brand leaked from the tip and the juice would burn ppl's lips.
Luci - I saw no bad reviews on this but felt it was just too expensive.
Halo - Halo cigs was the brand I chose, saw many good reviews and had a fair price for a starter kit.

These were the 3 I found online that seemed best, I noticed that many ppl that chose to go with any of the cheap gas station brands that were $20 would either still continue to smoke along with it or just gave up on the e cig.

Most of the folks here would recommend the Volt if we're talking about a cig sized device. A high percentage of folks (me included) started with something like that and soon graduate to something with a bigger battery and better performance. I carry 650 mah KGOs at work and use a few others, like a VTube and Joye 18650 mod, at home...

I wouldn't recommend any of those brands either. I've never used a Volt but I see it recommended so often here that I'd go with that, if I wanted a small "starter" PV.

I started with disposable e-cigs from my local smoke shop. Then I got to reading here and bought a KGO. Liked it so much I now have four kits!

I was a heavy Newport smoker, almost 2 packs a day so I new the small cig sized units were not for me. I went to Volcano ecigs and ordered the inferno kit. Size of a small cigar and that works great for when I am out and about with the kids or what ever I have to do. I also got a VV for home use because they are bigger devices and not as easy to put in your pocket and go but great for sitting at home and relaxing. Been vaping for a month and love it. Still under what I spent in a month for anologs and I do not need anything for a while.

I would recommend going with the eGo system; interchangeability rules.

You start with two Joye eGo batteries (choose between 650 mah, 900 mah etc; higher mah means longer time between charges).
Be sure the batteries come with a charger cord and plug-in wall unit; it's safer to charge from the wall than a USB port on a computer.
Then you can choose between cartomizers, clearomizers, or the more technical 2-piece atomizer and cartridge set-up.
All parts need to be compatible with eGo threading so be careful when making purchases.
Now you can buy your own nicotine fluid in little bottles and fill your cartomizer/cartridge by yourself.

I have two 900 mah eGo-T batteries with low-resistance dual coils cartomizers and am currently making the switch to CE4+ clearomizers (already ordered; in-the mail). Then I will probably advance to the newest rebuildable clearomizer which can be taken apart, cleaned out and have the atomizer coils replaced.

I started out with an overpriced older generation 808 clone from a mall kiosk. Got ripped off, but it introduced me to the world of Vaping. I’m glad you’re skipping this step.

Then I went to Blu premium 100’s. That’s better than the smaller Blu you get in Walgreens as it has a better charging case and better batteries. The leaking juice you’ve been reading about is most likely from when Blu used an atomizer / cartridge setup. They now use cartomizers, and there is no leaking problem. Blu premium 100’s are not bad, but there are better cig look-a-like’s out there. I was able to quit smoking using it.

Then I went with a Kgo, which is like an ego. Great battery life at 1100mah and a solid unit. Then I got an Ego Twist for variable voltage vaping.

I replaced my Blu with a Volt and gave the Blu to a friend that wanted to try vaping. The Volt is far superior to the Blu. The batteries are sealed (no worries about destroying them if e-liquid drips into them), batteries last longer, voltage is regulated to 3.6v so you get a good vape and the customer service is amazing. In general it is about as good as you can get from a cig look-a-like. If you’re gonna get a mini….go with the Volt.

Now even though I have a 1100mah Kgo and a VV Twist, I still use my Volt every day. I just like that cig form factor. It slips so easily into my pocket and is barely noticeable when tucked away there. I also like that form factor for driving. It’s just like the “old days” of smoking where it fits so comfortably between my fingers while still gripping the steering wheel. It also serves as a backup for when my other PV’s battery dies, and I keep a different flavor in it for variety.

While there are certainly technical advantages to the bigger units (more battery life, more options) many people still enjoy the smaller form factor of the cig look-a-likes. I’ll probably always carry one in my pocket.

I'd also suggest skipping the mini's. Used mine (808) for less than a week (bought before I found this place) before I was looking at longer battery life, larger juice storage, and new parts to try. Battery was needing 5 swaps a day, topping up cartos upwards of 8 times, and all the new bits I wanted to try wouldn't fit. I work at home so all these were nuisances. If I had a 9-5 plus travel, I doubt I would have stuck to the 808. In fact, my wife was supposed to get my mini, but I'm fairly certain she'll be taking my spare 650 battery and clearo to work. They're just less hassle.

I went with the EGO-T kit to start with. I HATED the tank system though. I quickly went to cartomizers. A couple weeks later after researching, I went with the EGO Twist VV 650mAh battery with a LR 1.7 atty and EGO dripshield set at 4.2 Volts. I still use that device daily but my new toy is the Silver Bullet. It's amazing! I use a J Tank with a single coil carto at work and I drip at home with an Empiremods drip shield and cherry vapes tip

X2, have tried cigarette sized ones and do not like them. I got a KGO a few weeks ago through advice i got from a friend that been vaping for a year and a half i believe.

The Ego Twist also looks pretty interesting

at first I thought i wanted a cigarette sized one because it resembles a cigarette more and i was concerned how a 6.5" long device would look in public, but the more I vaped the more i got used to it. I am glad i didnt' get a cigarette sized one

P.S. Before i got the KGO 2.5 weeks ago i was a pack a day smoker. The battery lasts around a day for me but im vaping a good amount. The cigarette sized ones wouldnt work for me, the battery life and quality of the vape doesnt cut it. If you were/are a heavy smoker around a pack a day, trust me the cigarette sized wont cut it

What I love about the Volt is the size and form factor. It's a great starting off point. Many are happy sticking right there, but others will want more battery life and bells and whistles. Those people will most likely end up with several PV units before they're done like I did.

Even after getting the Twist and a Kgo, I still use the Volt every day. There are just times (like driving) when I just prefer the Volt over my bulkier PV's. For me the 650mah Twist (same size as the 1100mah Kgo) is the bulkiest thing I'm willing to tote around so I won't even consider other fine PV's like Lava Tube, Bullet, Provari etc. If I can't stick it in my jeans front pocket...it ain't the device for me.

I've never liked spending good hard earned cash on cheaply made stuff, basically disposable.
Then have to spend more to replace it, or on something better in short order.
Performance and quality were/are more important to me than form factor.

The Provari was my first purchase, then I grabbed a couple ego style batteries for back-ups, for lending out,
or to use in any situation where I might drop, lose or otherwise ruin the Provari.

With the advancements in this new technology happening so quickly there is a lot of outdated/inferior stuff
out in the marketplace still being sold(and bought). I think most vapers have stuff they no longer use.
For me it's cartomisers and atomisers.

With the new vv ego twists on the market along with the best quality clearomisers to hit the market yet(Stardusts)IMO.:2c:
I'm sure a lot of vendors are going to be stuck with tons of old stock that just doesn't make the grade anymore.
Except for new vapers that do not yet know the options that are out there. Buyer Beware!

Regardless of where the industry is going and the overabundance of newer and better options,
if what you have works for you and keeps you off the stinkies
then the rest doesn't really matter.

Blue,

I started vaping 3 months ago and quit smoking that very same day. I did buy a cigarette look alike (ProSmoke) because I wanted the look and feel of analogs. What I didn't know was that they require more fussing. Carts, atomizers, batteries, constant charging of the small batteries, refilling the tiny cartos, and buying a lot of atomizers. Just a pain in the ..... I ordered a couple eGo 1000mah Twists with the Mega Dual Cartos on a recommendation from PBasardo. Bigger, more powerful, and holds about 100 drops of juice. Good Luck.
