I just started with the eGo-T starter kit. Nicely put together, two batts, atomizers and a bunch of extra carts. I charged both and have been using same batt for two days. First fill of cart was 1/2 full and refilled to top today. I've been really pleased with the ease of use wih almost no learning curve. Good vape from first hit. Got it at madvapes, quick and easy.

Like most ppl, I did read this forum and as much as I could on the net before I made my choice in what exactly to purchase for vaping. So I want to know what product did you choose and why?

For me I had narrowed it down to 3:

Blu - Thought I heard this brand leaked from the tip and the juice would burn ppl's lips.
Luci - I saw no bad reviews on this but felt it was just too expensive.
Halo - Halo cigs was the brand I chose, saw many good reviews and had a fair price for a starter kit.

These were the 3 I found online that seemed best, I noticed that many ppl that chose to go with any of the cheap gas station brands that were $20 would either still continue to smoke along with it or just gave up on the e cig.

Volt is the one many here reccommend, but I have also seen many reccommendations to the Halo G6. Just remember, if you have an unsealed battery do not refill or top off cartos while they are on the battery, you can kill your battery if liquid gets inside them. Unsealed batteries have a hole in the top where the battery connects to the carto, they are generally the automatic batteries. Manual batteries are most often sealed, and the Halo kits give you the option of manual or automatic, or one of each.

This one lets you get the halo sampler pack along with the kit. http://www.halocigs.com/510-electronic-cigarette-starter-kit.html

I started with a $40 kit (The Boge Leo) -- two 800mAh batteries, an atty and two cartos -- I liked vaping almost instantly -- I would recommend the Leo to a new vaper, though I'd say don't bother with the atomizers. Just use cartos to start. The Leo batteries are proprietary, but I bought a $4 adapter and am now using a 510 Tank Carto. I'm glad I started with two complete PV's -- it's made the transition smoother, since I could easily chain vape if I wanted to.

The juice I ordered with my kit wasn't my cup of tea. Be prepared to try a few kinds of juice before you find one you like. I got lucky on my second order.

Something with a native 510 connector would be a good choice too: ego, kgo, etc. and would certainly be a better option than any of the cig-sized uints. I skipped those myself, since after reading on here and thinking about it, it just didn't make sense, especially when you're looking at literally $10 or so more for a much better system, and ultimately, the cost of the PV will be dwarfed by the long term costs of juice and cartos, and if you're replacing smoking with vaping, it's all well worth it.

I just ordered a mini "lavatube" for $55. Mostly because I want to try variable voltage. Eventually I'm sure I'll end up with one of the more expensive US-made devices. I like the look (and idea) of the zenesis. Though the provari seems to be the "one".

Lcuky for me my bud Bill a.k.a. Capt. Awesome Sauce for all the great juices he mixes had an arsenal of vaping equipment so when I took interest he cracked open a fresh drip tip (Purple my choice) and let me try them all. After a couple of nights vaping our faces off! I order a V-tube mini, loved it but spent a lot of time changing batteries out, hit up Rob @ Apollo and swapped it out for the full size V-Tube, lovin it but now looking for another to add to the collection. Open to suggestions ▒░

I started with an Ego-T kit. That didi the job pretty well and kept me away from analogs from day 1 (and I did not really planned to quit smoking at that time, just bought it to test it...)
Then as most vapers, I moved on to a mod, first a Galileo, then a provari mini. But only when I realised I wouldn't go back to analogs.

I also started vaping with the mini's from the gas station. They did get me off analogs so for that I'm thankful. I have a friend that had a ego and the 2 hour battery life of the mini's were driving me crazy. I was also interested in organic juices so I purchased this kgo from Virgin Vapor along with some juices and cartos. KGO/eGo Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes
The cartos were the way to go and purchase them from a number of different suppliers. I'm extremely happy with my kgo and have not had any problems with it at all. I didn't read every post in this thread, but I read numerous times to only charge the battery until the light turns green to avoid any problems with ruining your battery. I plug mine in, set my phone timer for 2 hours then take a look. If it's still red, I add 30 minutes, etc... It charges in 3 hours but I'm never sure if my battery is completely drained. This works for me.

Good luck to you!

My bf bought me my first pv, which was an overpriced rebranded ego-T, I still have it as a backup or to let my sister use. However my main pv is my BB (baby bullet), I like that in everything I could find I haven't read one bad report on the SB's but I didn't want something quite that big. Only downside, it is too small for a kick. Even knowing that I am not sorry I went with the BB.

Honestly, my first was a Blu Tosser (throw-away), in Magnificent Menthol. It tasted more like caramel than menthol, but hey, I'm a fan of that as well, so no worries, right?

Anyway, I ended up grabbing a 510 from my local Vape Shop (aye, you read that right-VAPE shop, not a smoke shop!), despite the fact I could have probably got an eGo or somesuch. Fact is, aesthetics are every bit as important to me as any other part of the equation-more so, when you get right down to it. I don't like the look of the larger units, and as this fella don't sell the DES601 (e-pipe) at the moment, I went with a basic 3-Part 510 jobbie.

Aye, it's burning through batteries I am, but I'm not that heavy a vaper to start with, so it works for me.

Main reason I didna go with the Volcano (as suggested by many on here), this guy didna carry them, and if I can AVOID dealings online, I choose to.

So, that's my story, and it's sticking to it I am! ;)

The smokeless image volt is the same exact battery as the halo. SI is a little cheaper and has customer service that is second to none.

Since you already have Ego T batteries, you should experiment with some different juice systems - cartomizers, clearomizers etc. Like juice, they are far more important than the battery you put them on. Then you can look at bigger batteries that last longer than the 650 mah Egos if needed. There are also variable voltage batteries (PV's). But I would now focus on juices and juice delivery systems that suit you.

I don't use minis but, the Halo G6 is reputed to be just as good as the Bloog Max Fusion which is just as good as the Volt.

I wouldn't touch any of them. However, I've ceased to argue about it. The fact is most members of this forum do go on to something else but, there's no reason to believe that most members of this forum represent most vapers. That's something we tend to forget.

When I first started, I was bamgoogled into getting a kit from V2Cigs. Overpriced and lousy order fulfillment, but the equipment was decent enough. My only gripe was that the charge capacity. Before long, I moved on to a Riva 901, Riva 510, KGO, and am now awaiting my eGo Twist, which should be here tomorrow. :)

Of the 3 that you listed in the OP, my choice would be Halo. The Volt would be an even better choice, due to lower cost.

Volt is the one many here reccommend, but I have also seen many reccommendations to the Halo G6.
As far as I know, all of the following are the same: Volt, Bloog MaxxFusion, Halo G6.
I believe that the Smoov may also be the same model.

As far as upgrades to an Ego-like battery, I only know about the X2 from Smokeless Image (Volt).
Maybe the others have an upgrade as well, but I haven't heard that yet.

I started with a 510 and tried to get my dad to use a 510, but he was a two pack a day guy so those batteries were wearing thin on him quickly. I got a tank and Upgraded him to a screwdriver and now he is good to go and obsessed and looking for something stronger. But I am not privy on that type of information on what to get him next.

Being a heavy smoker, get your Dad a good 5 volt or variable volt model. Higher voltage means warmer vapor and better throat hit. the 5 volt GLV2 is the best 5 volt on the market. If you want something on the low cost end, get a 5 volt Box Mod from Ken's Box mods. A nice entry level variable volt is the EVO from sweet-vapes. The GLV2 is from Great Lakes Vapor.

If you need the ritual, don't skip the "minis" - the cigarette lookalikes. This is my personal recommendation based on personal experience. After the switch has been made and things are feeling dull and you want to ramp things up a bit and you're sticking with vaping, then fine, that is the time to start moving up the bigger and shinier and usually more expensive power and mod ladder. Not everyone has the same level of need of exploration.

I didn't know about ECF until after I started with vaping.

My first kits were V2. Excellent batteries, limited and not so exciting flavors, and slower than molasses in January processing and shipping.

My next batteries and accessories were Volt, and came from Smokeless Image. Smokeless Image was recommended to me by someone who understood my desire for something other than black, white or stainless steel, and maybe a little "bling." I am still using the Volt and Smokeless Image accessories. I also use Smokeless Image's step up mid-size battery, the X2. The X2 comes 650, 900, or 1300 mAh (or whatever that power marker is). I have them in all sizes, I use them with clearomizers and CE tanks. The X2 is also 808 threaded, just like the regular Volt 65mm and 78mm batteries, so I can also use the Volt cartos with the X2. I'm happy in this setup.

I have no desire at this time to move away from my Volt "minis" and X2's. Every situation for vaping for me is covered by these batteries, and I don't want the huge rocket batteries or box mods. That is me, and everyone has their own level of "moving on," so to speak.
