I quit the day before you did!! Awesome!

About 3 weeks after I quit analogs / started vaping, I felt like CRAP! I had a sore throat, sinus issues, headache, body aches, irritability, etc.....
It lasted for about 2 weeks and then I felt GREAT and have felt pretty darn good ever since then. I haven't had a hit off of a real cigarette since jan. 14...I haven't been sneaking hits or anything...and I feel much healthier now.
I do still occasionally have phlegm that comes up, especially in the shower, but I *feel* like the vaping is actually loosening all that crud up in my lungs and helping me to purge it. Of course, I cannot prove this medically or scientifically. I feel this is the case based on past experiences of quitting cold turkey without vaping compared to quitting this time with vaping. It feels different to me.

Keep up the good work everyone! We are fighting the good fight to stay off of analogs!!

Speaking from experience....

Drink LOTS of water!!

As a former Marine (Semper Fi to any other Devil Dogs on here) I have been well trained on the water issue. I drink between 3/4 of a gallon and 2 gallons a day in 32 ounce increments. Used Gatorade bottle FTW.

Thanks for all the input, I have had one headache, brief, a sliminess in my throat w/ occasional clear gunk discharged and a slight giddy nervousness when I have over-vaped.

Other than those very minor symptoms I feel better than I have ever felt on day 1.5 post smoking.:vapor:

That would explain HME thinking you and I might hit it off.

I forgive you for being happy about the lack of snow, but don't expect preferential treatment just because you were also to dumb to join the Air Force... Lol

I was too dumb? Pot/Kettle, buddy.

Though HME didn't know I'm a former Marine. I never mentioned it before today. At least, I don't think I did. Evidently, Rave isn't the only one losing brain cells.
Yeah, but her father was one and her Brother/nephew also.
So, she must have just felt your vibrations in the force and known you were a Jarhead.
Don't feel bad, a lot of her favorite people are Jarheads.
At least that's what she says to my face. :p

So, when were you in and where were you stationed?

First Iraq (91-94) and I never made it out of the country:

Paris Island
Camp Lejune (MCT)
Some Naval Base North of Memphis for A school training
Norfolk Naval (Camp Elmore)
Headquarters Marine Corps
Bethesda Naval

Got out over a shoulder injury that the Navy said "will not withstand the rigors of Marine Corps life" and gave me 20%

What about you?

Lol. He's My Everything was right. You two have certainly hit it off.

Regarding the phlegm. Expect more for a couple of months, and perhaps some congestion, too. I returned from my first doctor appointment after quitting the tobacco cigarettes just last night. The doctor's explanation is those little cilia of the throat and lungs and whatnot are the "phlegm elevators" that push the gunk out and up from our lungs and have us coughing to clear it. When smoking, the smoke we inhale kills the cilia, and there is nothing to move all that gunk out of the lungs, and that's the stuff - from the cigarette smoke, the tar, soot, etc. - that clogs them and eventually leads to lung diseases and cancers. Your system is starting to regrow the cilia, and your lungs are starting to heal, and all that gunk is a part of it and will probably be heavy for the first 5 to 10 months, sometimes longer. Eventually you should notice when you cough that it is a full cough and you'll be able to clear your passages better. Doc said use any over the counter decongestant that works for helping with the sinus congestion that will accompany a lot of this. And, also note, we are going into spring and here in my area (Colorado), the trees have already started with the pollen clouds as of 2 weeks ago. Allergy time.

Obviously, Vaping would have to be terrible to even come into the same league as analogs but,

What's up with this phlegm?

Anyone who has done any real reading about this and could point me to some reliable info, I would really appreciate it.

My first flush of excitement with this product line has me "selling" to my friends and i would like to be able to answer these questions.

Thanks

It could be a number of things. You could be allergic to PG or some ingredient, or possibly not enough water. I know that vaping does cause dry mouth to an extent. If it concerns you, talk to a doctor about it, but I'm sure you already know that.
