I have ruined the cutters I used to cut Kanthal with trying to cut SS wire. The only thing I have found that will cut it are a pair of diagonal cutters (tin snips) but I can't use them to cut very close to posts and such. So what do you use?

I use a pair similar to
these that I've had for years too. Just make sure they are hardened steel, otherwise they'll be damaged by SS. I would link to mine, but it's been too long since I got them.
These look good to me, though I haven't tried them. A Rockwell hardness 54-56C would make me take the plunge if I were looking for a new pair![]()
I find it cuts kanthal fine, goes through twisted 26g no problem. Mine were just part of a cheap grooming set as well, nothing special.I am not sure how you guys are using nail clippers. When I use them the wire not only doesn't get cut, the clippers end up with a groove where the wire was. The wire is literally denting the metal on the side clippers I was using.
