Been this screenie for years as i am a hobby silversmith and jewellery designer. Not done much a quite a few years now due to lack of space in previous house, job etc getting in the way but have a proper mancave now so i can get back into it properly.

Always had a thing for making chains.. my own form of meditation and can be quite zen-like. Also.. hated the idea of making something nice then putting it on a machine made mass produced chain....

It's been my nickname for close to 20 years now. It's a mix of my first and middle name. It was given to me by my best friend in High school because I am named after my Dad. When my parents divorced I went by Greg (first name) at school and all my family called me Steve (middle name). Well my friends would call the house and ask for Greg, so my Mom would say "he doesn't live here". Next day at school I would get 20 questions about why I don't live at home anymore LOL. He got sick of the confusion and one day said "Man pick a name right now, Geeve or Steg." Geeve stuck and I have been called that since by teachers, friends and family

I feel the need to be the best at everything that i attempt to master and when I do not succeed it really bothers me. It certainly has it's ups and downs, mostly downs though, and if I could help it I would. If you watch the show Dexter, well, I don't vent, kidnap and kill but you get the point. Back in high school I used to smoke a lot and was the de-facto stoner of the class.

Although not my most expensive piece, my favorite tube was a "Waffle", a stemless that fed into a disk at the bottom of the tube that percolated the smoke with a large grid of tiny slits. I had ordered it from the glassblower directly, and Preston @ Stoneglassworks was simply awesome. He always replied to my emails and was a great all around dude.

I've been using the handle for years now, well after I have stopped smoking as much. It's almost just become a part of me.

Woah! That is really neat! What is in involved in building a kite like that? Have you taken any like aerodynamics courses to improve your designs or anything like that?
