I was a US Navy Submariner for six years. When I first reported to my boat, I had to work in the galley (kitchen) for 90 days (most do when they first report). When I met the head cook, he asked me my name, I said "Gaul" (military mainly goes by last name). He (Daryl) ask me my name again, I said "Gaul" again. He looked at me kinda funny, and asked what my last name was, so I said "Gaul" again. He looked at me even funnier and said "ok". Days went by, weeks even, him calling me "Gaul", or at least I thought. Finally, I realized he was calling me Paul! So I said to him, "Daryl, why the hell are you calling me Paul?" He said, "that's your name, right, Paul Gaul?!" I was like "nooooo! My name is Dave!" So for a while, my name was Paul Gaul! Then, one of the guys on the boat who became a good friend of mine started calling me RuPaul Gaul (as a joke, like that cross dresser guy RuPaul, it was in the 90's!!!)! The same guys also said "Dawg" a lot. Well, RuPaul kinda got old for me after a while, and I said something to him about it, so dude started calling me "RuDawg" one day, and it stuck! I've been using RuDawg ever since. I added the "7890" part, because believe it or not, RuDawg was taken on many sites! "7890" just signifies the 7th-9th characters in the name, 0 instead of 10.
