I think this is dangerous. For example, IKEN is pushing 150W to TC coil to heat it up to 300F. I do not want to build coils, if at all possible. Is there anyone doing this regularly with TC?

Uh, yeah, and what you just stated isn't right at all.. you should be able to get any temp you want at any wattage.. if you want 420 degrees at 15 watts the mod should have no problem doing it...

In fact, when I learned how to use the tc feature on one of my mods that's exactly what I set it at (420 running 15 watts). WITH a rebuildable 316l SS coil...

It's either your not setting up your tc correctly or that IKEN is bunk...

Thanks TrollDragon. But all epoxy is non-toxic after cured. It does not mean they are food grade. I looked at JB Weld products. No go.

And then the question is, have they been tested as far as breaking down in nicotine and other ejuice ingredients (answer: nope). Also, JB isn't recommended for use in situations where it's in frequent contact with liquids, IIRC.

Again, I tried many other to ditch kanger, nothing tastes as good. I do not want to keep experimenting ad nauseum. I have maybe 12 mods here with me, and threw as many away...

Asmodus Tribeaut
Asmodus Minikin V2
Innokin Kroma-Z
Vaporesso Gen S
Vaporesso LUXE II
Vaporesso LUXE II Nano
Geekvape Aegis
....

No go. Let's focus on what I need, which is a food/liquid safe sealant. Surely there must be something they use in repairing water tanks or attaching the bottoms of canned food.

I see, so you have extremely discriminating tastes. This is the source of this dilemma and, unfortunately, is going to make things a bit tough, but most likely impossible. RTAs will be the cheapest way to experiment with getting something new. But there's a learning curve with a lot of RTAs that you have to be willing to endure as you learn the nuances of different RTAs. Good luck, I have nothing more to add to this discussion. BUt IMHO, epoxy is a terrible "solution" for a vape tank.

Believe me, I have contacted everyone when I wanted to buy the mod last year, including thie Baba. Nobody has it.

Yeah... Due to the Age of that Tank, finding one is going to be a Long Shot at best. So it seems like you are at a Fork in the Road.

Either Go with a New Tank or RTA. Or keep searching for something Food Safe and try to Fix what you have.

I would Strongly suggest that even if you are Dead Set on fixing your Tank, that you Buy an RTA now as a Backup. An RTA, a $7 Spool of Wire and a Bag of Muji Cotton Pads would make you Self-Sufficient no matter what happens with the FDA.

And if you Haven't Heard, the Post Office is say'n No Go to shipping e-Cigarette stuff.

I already ordered the silicon and epoxy before I started this thread. I will use them and repair my tank.

I used RTAs before. They work fine. But I am not interested in doing that dirty job every time.

I don't live in Nazi Germany. Sorry for you guys about vape-mail.

I don't want to do RTAs. It is too much work. You can't see the posts, you can't see the holes, you keep fingering the cotton, you keep spending too much time, and most important of all, sometimes you get "burnt" taste. I am over that 5 years ago, never experienced that with Kanger SSOCC SS316 coils... Sorry guys, that is not my cup of tea. Why change a good thing? It is not like this is my first mod... it is the best mod/tank I found.

But I will order one top airflow RTA from the list I posted before just to show that I appreciate you all.

Kanger is firing up 150W both with Topbox before and IKEN. That is what I love about it. I believe you can't do 150W with some other mods. I have Vaporesso LUXE II and it does 100W max. It doesn't feel the same.

Let me put here for future reference....

JB Weld is NOT the right one for the job. I searched many of their products.
Aquarium Caulk is NOT the right one for the job.

The 2 I listed on the original post were the best I could find.

Loctite 595 (NSF 61 certified)
Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast (not their other products) (FDA 175.300 certified)

I think I should have posted this question in some Food and Beverage forums. I don't know where to find one :)

Because your only solution (at least to you) is to use epoxy to keep using the only tanks you are willing to use. ;)

It would not matter because no one knows how safe it is to use any epoxy on a vape tank. :w00t: Not even the manufacturers. At best they would give you their opinions, but that's not a safe way to go about this.

And even if you DID find a food and beverage forum where there MIGHT be some people who could MILDLY help you, they would either not answer you because you are a vaper or they would lambaste you for being a vaper.

What you are looking for is someone to come around and tell you what you want to hear, which is..

"Yeah, CountingCrows, [insert epoxy here] is not only effective to use on vape tanks, but it's 120% safe. I know, because I scientifically tested it and I am a certified epoxy expert who specializes in vape tank repair. So have at it, CountingCrows!"

But you ain't gonna get that.

You started 2 threads on the same exact topic because you are so desperate to find a solution that you figured maybe your approach on the first thread wasn't the best. But it wasn't your approach, it is your expectations that are out of whack.

You're desperate because your only options (in your mind) are likely to end in not having tanks to use, which is understandable. But you have GOT to be realistic!

Please understand, I'm not angry at you (but a little frustrated, admittedly), but you have to take a step back here and realize that you're not being very realistic. I've been there, too, looking for good, safe solutions. But sometimes there just isn't one.

Any DNA 250C mod will both do TC properly plus fire up to 250 watts if you want it to... you just have to use batteries that will put out that kind of energy expenditure.. (see battery @Mooch for battery recommendations...)

There are plenty of mods overall that will allow you to vape at 150 watts, I'm also thinking that's not good on your lungs... The average vaper vapes well under 100 watts... Just throwing that out there .

At any rate, good luck with your epoxy..

Hahahahaha. All very solid points.

BUT... guys come on, you are vaping chinese crap, and half of them counterfeits, all your lives. At least I know what is in epoxy. Do you know what is in your tank???

How easily you forgot disintegrating silica wicks and all other nasties!

Did someone say that this is a plastic tank? Could you somehow use a small hot object to melt the plastic to "heal" the crack?

Good idea, but I don't really know what it is. I can make it worse like that. They are usable at least, but it leaks a bit sometimes. Actually even with leaking, they are no worse than bottom airflow tanks' leak.

Silica wicks? I use organic cotton...

What are you even on about?

First most haven't vaped "all their lives" they smoked cigarettes for the majority. Is vaping through epoxy at 150 watts worse than smoking? Don't know... Don't care to know truth be told - but I do know it's just not smart.

Most of us quit smoking and went to vaping to save our lives, not just switch risk.

Have you ever heard the saying one bad apple ruins it for the whole bunch? It's people who think it's sane to vape through epoxy at 150 watts that gives vaping a bad name, and make it difficult for serious vapers to be heard by people who make the laws...

My goodness man get a new atty. If you don't live in Nazi Germany then buy a topper...

It might not be, but it's because I know what it's like not to be able to breathe..

when I switched to vaping my lungs were so shot from smoking that I couldn't make it to the mailbox at my house.. my lips regularly turned blue because I couldn't get oxygen.. That's why I quit smoking.

Since finding vaping I'm in a far far healthier place, but the legal battles to keep vaping alive for others who need it like myself have been constant... And vaping legally here is very close to death, because of stupid people on all sides.

It's the most frightening thing in the world to not be able to breathe - I don't recommend it.
