Someone asked me today and I could not answer them.

I said there is no nicotine because I know that was the first concern.

But what exactly is it that causes the vapor? Is it water? There must be something becuase you could sometimes smell whatever we are vaporing the flavor of the e-liquid say it is watermelon or cherry

If you were to analyze the vapor that we exhale what would it consist of if i were to ever get asked again?

This way I am better prepared.

Thanks

We probably exhale pretty much the same thing we inhale: PG or VG vapor. I don't think water is part of the make-up of the vapor. There might be some left-over nicotine in the exhaled vapor, but it all dissipates very quickly.

My friend was not really concerned for health reasons but mainly was asking is it safe to vape around his PC?

he was wondering if the vapor would be sucked into the vents and overtime damage the components...

I said i have no clue maybe if it is water possibly but i told him I doubt it almost everyone on the forums I know has a USB passthrough and they sit by the PC all the time to get extra power to get massive vapor

I use to work in a PC repair store, and you would not believe some of the PC's that came in from smokers. Yellow and dingy, smelled disgusting, but never seen one go bad over 4 yrs due to cigarette smoke. (EDIT: Yes maybe a DVD drive)

Large amounts of humidity can be bad for computers. You don't want condensation. I would equate e-cig vapor closer to humidity. But realistically I don't see it happening.

The biggest enemy to computers is DUST.

Actually, the antithesis is true. PG and VG are humidicants -- meaning they suck moisture out of everything in its path. 'tis why some say they are always thirsty when they vape.

But, we're talking about exhaled vapor that subsists for a second or two. Much ado about nothing, IMHO.

Nice research, Jeff. Not to sound like Johnny Carson but -- "I did not know that".

Next on the list -- Glycerol which = glycerin = glycerine = VG. No wonder we take to vaping so easy from smoking, eh?

There is nothing harmful. Water vapor, flavorings and a little PG or VG. Everything else is in such trace elements to be non-existent. This information should help:

URL SNIPPED ('cause I'm not to 15 posts just now)

That's an excellent report, but I'm a bit skeptical about its real goal. It reads like an ad. One statistic from the beginning of the report:

ze report said:
Its December 2007 internet price was around US
$208, with nicotine cartridge refills required every 300 puffs (1-4 days) costing extra.
After 1300 puffs the battery is recharged from the mains.

Does this sound right to anyone? I don't have first-hand experience yet, but from what I read that sound exaggerated. Being on page 6 of 28 makes me a bit leery about the remaining 22 pages. Could just be me...
