What *GOOD* habits from analogs do you keep?

I've been vaping for several months now, after ten+ years of over a pack a day. Save a cigar when I'm fishing, I have completely quit analogs now. And yet, there are habits from my analog days that I maintain.

First and foremost, analogs forced me outside. This is, in my mind, a good habit- to spend several minutes outdoors, no matter what the weather, several times a day. It is good to get fresh air, and now that I do not smoke analogs, the air is that much fresher! Also, to remove one's self from the hustle and bustle of the office, the glow of the television, or the simple monotony of the indoors. Reflecting on how the seasons change an otherwise static view, as well- I'm sure we all had our favorite smoking spots around the places and environs we inhabit. I also take walks on these breaks, which is good for a variety of reasons.

Another habit I have done my best to retain is to patronize a variety of local businesses. I've added the local ecig shop to my route (and, of course, stop in when it is not on my route), and other stores as well, even if it's just to pick up a $0.30 packet of toast chee; my actual reason is to visit these store owners, and maintain my connection to local businesses and community. Greeting local owners in their various languages, talking about the weather, local sports and news, these are good things for my community and surroundings.

What says you, ECF? What good habits did analogs give you?

That's a tough one, but I'd have to say, striking up a conversation with strangers.

If not for smoking and being forced to go outside, there are alot of people in my life I never would have had the opportunity to meet. Smoking was a common denominator. And though alot of those people were far different from me in tastes and style, some of them turned me on to new things (music) and new views (politics) during our 10-minute smoke break conversation.

So I'm more inclined to chat with someone who's standing around than just ignore them, and that came from smoking.

Humm, not sure if I'd be able to continue mingling with cigarette smokers any longer. After being off analogs for (see banner below) the smell has started to turn me off being close to them.

I wasn't really all that social anyway, so there's no loss to other smokers.

Anyway, not sure there are really any "good" habits in either smoking analogs or vaping PVs with the exception that it keeps my hands busy and out of other things that might get me into trouble. :p

The one good thing I've taken from them is the ability to just...stop. When things were hectic, I'd need to smoke so the hectic would just...stop.

When I was upset and just needed a moment to myself, I'd smoke and just...stop.

I still continue to just stop everyday. The difference now is, I'm not stopping my ability to breathe to do it.

This is excellent! Taking a moment to just *be* is a hard thing to do, especially in today's fast-paced modern world.

Beer.

I was so scared I would have to give it up when I left analogs behind. :)

But also, reiterating what some others say, chatting it up with strangers. Great thing from the smoking days that I thought I had lost.

Both of these for me as well.
I've made a lot of alliances at work just by going to the smoking area to vape.

I also still don't vape where kids can see me. Not sure if thats really a "good habit" so much as bieng respectful. I guess it makes me more aware of my surroundings though.

I still take breaks at work, even though I can vape on the job. It's good to have that change of scene a few times throughout the day. And, I take my PV with me and vape and shoot the bull with the smokers.

As a smoker, I never had the routine of going outside to smoke (other than on the job). But, I agree with that sentiment! Always a good thing, smoker or not.

I haven't had a Toast Chee in years. *adds to grocery list*
Weird. I've eaten them many times, but I swear, I never noticed Lance spelled cheese so poorly. I guess I'm not very observant sometimes.

One good thing I notice is now at night after work,,,I will grab a beer or a glass of wine and just sit and relax and vape for a few minutes...Normally, with analogs, I would just light up and keep going, Not relaxing......So, for me, the enjoyment of sitting and vaping is new and really pleasurable to me...Enjoy the Adventure...
