What Happened To Me?

I've been happily vaping 70/30 pg/vg for almost 6 weeks now, maybe more maybe less. Suddenly the last couple days I can't take the longer draws I'm used to, just baby hits or my upper chest completely rejects the idea. I don't even lung inhale, never have. I draw til I feel it at the back of my throat, quick in hale and release. I can't get to my shop (nor does my budget allow) to replace all my juices with higher VG.

Has this happened to anyone else? was it a temporary thing? I've adjusted all my voltages to match the ohms on my atomizers and cartos (1.8ohms - 3.1-3.3v etc). And I've been using 24mg nic since the get go.

Edit: also I can sit here and take huge breaths with no problem, no tightness. It's only when actively vaping.

What are you using as a topper? And have you cleaned/replaced the coil?

One thing I've noticed when I get a slight flood in a tank, or the airholes on my RBA aren't lined up right, basically bad airflow on ANY device...will result in an extremely harsh hit!

Agreed, when my coil is really gunked up, I cough everytime and I vape 90VG/10PG.

Aspire Nautilus (brand new second day of use)
Hypertank
IBTanked
Unitank
iClear 30s

Each with different flavors, but all freshly cleaned, degunked and filled.

i think it might be a flavor thing? Or an adjustment period with the Aspire? Or a combination. That's where I'm noticing it most. And of course it carries over to my others, because now I have irritation.

It feels like it used to that morning after a lot of smoking when you take that first hit and it feels like someone punched you right in the upper chest.

Try the cleaning thing, but my guess would be PG. I reached a point where I can't do PG very often at all. Kept dropping the PG and just reached a point where I couldn't do it all.

How frustrating! I buy all my juice locally, because I can try before I buy. But I can't get out there, or get new juice anywhere for another week. Heck I don't even know where to shop for the stuff online yet.

Funny thing is, I've been sitting here since I posted trying each mod and flavor and it is just that one, so first step I'm taking is dumping it out, followed by cleaning, and taking a couple advil to kill the inflammation. Hopefully I can get the coils clean...hate to waste one when I only have one extra.

So, if I'm looking for juice online...what's my best bet? I keep hearing about Mt Baker, but I know they have steeping time. I guess I'll try 50/50 and see if that helps.

Sounds familiar. What I did: Cut my already on-hand juice with distilled water decreasing the flavoring strength which does decrease nic too a bit while waiting for juice in higher nic to arrive that when cut this way would satisfy me. You can add up to 30% distilled water but I usually did around 10%... one drop per ml. Oddly, distilled water, while decreasing the percentage of flavoring, doesn't actually decrease taste (at least not at 10%) and actually might increase it depending on the flavoring. Its worth a try to see if your body has hit overload on flavoring.

I sounds to me like your body is telling you it is time to lower your nic strength. That is basically how I knew it was time for me.

The suggestion you got advising you to pick up some VG at your local wally world is a very good suggestion. Keep in mind the VG is going to be VERY thick. You will need to thin it with a bit of Distilled water.

Id try dropping your nic personally, also if you think you could get away with a little less flavor with what you have on hand you could go to a walmart and get from VG from the pharmacy area and dilute your juices down a tad, the VG + lower nic would effectively lighten it up quite a bit

What would be the drops/ml for that? And would that dilute the nic and pg as well reducing both? Also can I combine that with the 10 drops/ml of distilled water suggested below? This is all above my experience level at the moment so I don't want to muck it up.

between here and there
If using distilled water, I would not go any more than 2 drops per 10 ml. What size bottles do you have. And try one drop first, then test. If not enough try the 2nd one. Always test, bc if you add too much it can ruin the ejuice. You can always put a little in, but once its in there you can't take it out.

You said that it happened when you took a hit off of a certain device? Or was it a particular flavor?

If it was from a certain device, the coil might not actually be the correct ohm as labeled.
If it was from a particular flavor, you might have a reaction to that particular flavoring. Once the lungs are irritated with that flavor, it will affect your vaping experience with the others.

Try not using that flavor or device for a couple of days and see what happens.
Just guessing here.

So I'd be better of testing in the tank (it has measurements marked) so I could test as I went. I have 30ml bottles but this particular flavor is partly used and I don't know how much is in there now.

It seems to be a certain flavor. It's over a month old. But so are a couple others that aren't bothering me at all.

It is possible that whatever they use in that flavoring does not agree with you. Try not using it for a few days to a week. Empty the device and clean it out well. Use a different flavor in it, one that you know you're ok with, and see if the same thing happens. AFTER you get your body back to normal. One thing at a time to narrow down what is causing this for you. :)

It is empty, and I'm just figuring out how to clean the coil for the Nautilus so it isn't wasted. Vaping on a different flavor now with now trouble at all.

If you use VG you could cut it a decent amount, id just start off small and add more until you find the sweet spot. Ive never done things by drops per ml. But if i for example had a 2ml tank, id fill it 90% and add the last 10% VG, then if its strong once its down a tiny bit just top it off with VG until youre happy. Start small and work your way to what makes you happy.

Also if you are using straight Walmart VG (their bottles are simply labeled Glycerin, and its made by Humco, label is white pink and blue) it is pretty thick, so you can add distilled water too, but personally i dont care to have anything i vape watered down, water simply cooks off and does not really create visible vapor and id rather enjoy the extra cloudies

Thanks for all the advice. I just placed an order for some 50/50 juice at Mt baker. I'll grab some plain VG next week. I still have a raw throat on my Sweet GA Peach and a couple other flavors (70/30). Hoping that helps. I'm currently trying to not vape much and let the irritation simmer down. Completely tossed the one that hurt my chest, not willing to even try that one again.
