I have not told my own doctor that I am vaping but knowing her for as long as I have; I think she would be happy if I told her I was rolling up elephant dung and inhaling it, as long as I am not smoking....I should ask her what she thinks to see if I should fire her or not...She was ok with me eternally using nicatrol inhalers as long as I didn't smoke...so I strongly doubt she would have issues with me vaping...lol.

ehehe bottom feed and rolling up elephant dung! (love you avatar BTW)

Seems like you doctor understands the HUGE difference between a chemical and a physical reaction. That's a good doc compared to those who only focus on the presence of nicotine, which proves they likely ignore they eat the stuff with their precious veggies almost every day.

Had anyone ever thought of mentioning the part about nicotine in veggies to their ignorant doctors??? I'm sure it would tick them off, but ignoramuses deserve to be told what they really are when they decide you're doing a bad thing while they're just oblivious to the fact they (an everybody else) do the same without knowing it.

I just got back from the doctor today and he was really excited that I had quit smoking, BP was down to 120/70, lost 6 lbs., and he said my lungs sounded great. He was also impressed that I had dropped from 24-18mg of nicotine when I started down to 6mg. When he asked if I had needed the daily maintenance inhaler and I was able to tell him I hadn't need it or my rescue inhaler he gave me a congrats and a big handshake. Then changed my chart to read former smoker, I was stoked!

But of course being a physician he ended the conversation with now in time work on getting off the vaporizer, all in all great visit and I feel even more confident in my choice to give up the coffin nails for vaping! Vape on!:vapor:

I have heard before that vegetables contain nicotine, but I guess my question would be how much? Would it be comparable to vaping, say at a nic level of 6mg, or even 12mg? Also, regardless of the levels, would eating it in vegetables be the same as heating it up and inhaling it?

My GP is cautiously positive about vaping for me. I'm good with that. Has me down as a non-smoker too :thumb:

My GP said "well done" when I mentioned I'd replaced smoking with vaping.

A recent documentary covered vaping (among other things) - they were unable to find any harm from it, and also couldn't identify any risk to passive vapers.

Obviously they cautioned against taking up the addictive substance if you didn't smoke already.

From at least my own personal experience I don't think it is.

I vape about 1ml of 12mg per day, and I consistently test positive on the disposable nicotine test kits that I bought.
My wife eats far more vegetables than I do, and she has not ever tested positive on those same kits.

And I do vape around her most of the times I am vaping, for those wondering.

Nicotine tests are built to assume some level of nicotine, because we ALL test positive for it's presence.
But they have a threshold built in which is supposed to distinguish a "nicotine user" from the average person.
