Been vaping for 3 weeks. No anologs. I'm done with 'em after 40+ years of analogs. This is a cake-walk compared to any of the other diversions, methods and substitutes I've tried.
No contest. It's a no-brainer for me at this point.

I've enjoyed vaping from the start for many reasons but I've noticed that I miss the rush. The slight occasional momentary dizziness and the feeling that I'm wearing a warm and heavy lead hat or helmet which helped me feel grounded and safe and probably had nothing to do with nicotine, I think. It's the other stuff in analogs (which hasn't been properly studied or publicised yet).
Anyway, I'm not getting that with vaping. Does anybody else know what I mean?

The positive trade-off is I'm still getting the throat-hit (very important) and the hand-to-mouth oral thing (also very important), the vapor (smoke) visual thing and the worlds apart: better taste with e-cigs.
Then there is the ubber-most benefit: Better health! I feel good! I can breath like when I was a kid!

I almost forgot the gear! I love gear and gadgets! This is so cool...and expensive in the short run when you feel the need to explore everything. Can't get that with analogs! I'm an e-cig dealers dream.

But...I miss the rush....the grounding. So I vape a lot.
Lower nicotine levels are comfortable, I'm finding, as long as the taste is satisfying...and I vape enough. I'm going to work my way down.

Rush? I'll have to take up bungee jumping or something.

Yes. Probably you are missing all the other alkaloids that a cigarette has. Some of them are addictive also.

But i've found a very good way to adress this problem. When i crave something more i just vape at 6 or 7 volts... I even do that on a regular atty sometimes. It delivers the same nasty dirty effect the cigarette had. I do it after breakfast and after meals. Also, whenever i want to "convert" an hardcore smoker i let him try at 6 volts. I love their faces as they take the hit...

How does one up the voltage? I have an 808 on order. Just curious, gotta get it to try it still.

Either you have a PT that does 5 volts or you get a mod that will carry 6 or 7,4 volts in batteries.

However ur KR808 delivers true 3,7 volts instead of 3.1 or 3.2 of , say a 510. So the KR's battery is really nice.

I know exactly what you mean... Like when you haven't smoked for an entire day and you take that first drag and it nearly knocks you on your .... where you are in like this weird comfortable haze of bliss that lasts for 15 mins or so? I don't find that here either.

I'd be interested to find out what chemical in cigs did that. We'll find out the government has been sanctioning weed additives in our cigs... lmao!

That 'grounding' feeling, that 'warm and heavy lead hat' that you're missing is probably a lack of carbon monoxide circulating through your veins. It's definitely a poison and you certainly don't need it and are better off without it--but I know exactly what you mean. I kinda miss it, too..
So are you saying if we sit in the garage with the car on, we're likely to get the same effect before passing out and dying? :pervy:

Sorry... No one take that as a suggestion... I'm NOT liable for your actions...

edit:
You can get your happy hat *grin* back with some snus... good stuff. Find more info in the smokeless section of the forum Smokeless tobacco - E-Cigarette Forum and some info on what exactly IT is you aren't getting from vaping in the nicotine section of the forum http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/nicotine/44958-so-we-getting-we-not-nicotine.html

I, for one, can state for certain that there is plenty of nicotine in these bottles, but it is not the "high" we are looking for. When I first tried this, I was sick for 3 hours... Due to nicotine, I suppose, but it wasn't the "buzz" I got from a day without cigarettes, it was an ill feeling... Either way though, if it helps me quit smoking, that is ultimately all I care about.

I'm glad it's working so well for you. I am loving mine for the same reasons you stated. I am not vaping now as much as I was the first month, unless I'm around smokers a lot, then I vape more. Band pactice last night was a regular vape session though. Three out of four members vaping away. Although we were quickly outnumbered as friends stopped in to listen.

For a Rush maybe you can get a really big gig, that's always a Rush for me.:) :):)

That's what those links I gave are talking about... The other stuff in analogs. You might want to read it. ;) It is about the MAOIs and WTA we aren't getting with nicotine liquid for vaping. The OP talked about missing that "grounding" and some find they now can't focus and/or may be more anxious since they've quit smoking. Snus has that "missing" link. That's why I recommended snus and checking out the thread about nicotine (and the other things that are in tobacco that we aren't getting now). Epic thread (and a must read).

Snus can replace what we were getting when we smoked (that happy "normal" feeling). Not everyone struggles, but plenty of us have. I had a hard time that grew worse with each month and I hit the wall after about month 7... I felt something was missing and I felt like I was ready to just give up and smoke. I used snus for about 2 months along with vaping (and bumping my nic level back up to 18mg) and all the problems went away. Some just work it into their daily routine (use 3 or 4 a day) and some end up using snus or snuff rather than vaping. Works great if you are having problems hanging in there with vaping alone.

All the info. above is in the links I gave earlier.

I was not able to find the information in the subforum you linked to in 15 mins or less, so I turned to my old pal Google.

What I found on MAOIs:
Several studies have also shown that tobacco smoke acts as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). 9,10,11 Monoamine oxidase is another brain chemical that is involved in the breakdown of dopamine. The studies found that levels of MAO were significantly lower in smokers than among non-smokers. This is interesting for several reasons. MAOIs are often used as anti-depressants, but have also been shown to help in the treatment of Parkinson's disease12. This may explain findings showing increased depression among people trying to give up smoking13, but also, controversially, the lower rates of Parkinson's found among smokers. When someone stops smoking, MAO levels gradually return to normal. This is likely to cause a reduction in the anti-depressant effects felt, and so the depression returns. Some studies have even shown that starting smoking can have beneficial effects for depressed non-smokers14.

Now what is this WTA you are talking about?

Try reading from this point here (great info. posted by Madame Psychosis)
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-getting-we-not-nicotine-191.html#post1276892

Yeah, it is a looooong thread, but packed with info. You'll get the idea by starting with that post above.

WTA is Whole Tobacco Alkaloids You'll find them in smokeless tobacco products such as Snus and Snuff (nasal). http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/nicotine/56344-snus-wta.html

Great info from DVap in his blog on this subject:
