Adria's right..Sports Drinks are a big NO ..they're hypertonic and laden with sugar..bad news for rehydrating.

the best coconut milk...the REAL Deal..a coconut ..it is nasty..most tastes like a combo of motor oil and sweat..

My daughter works at a big artisan grocery store chain and brought me some Amy & Brain's she drinks..it was palatble, sweet not too bad.

what I do is a big "sippy cup" of water all the time, and you'll get used to..I wasn't a fan of just water, I'd doctor it with lemon or lime and some sweet&low or something (don't do equal it gives me those thunderclap headaches if I use it too much) or hell a teaspoon of sugar added to half and half any fruit juice, grape, orange, etc. if sugar isn't an issue for you..don't go nuts.

I get teased about my "sippy cups" but I've never had vapors tongue or any of that other ick stuff from dehydration.

I have heard that, in a pinch, it can be used for transfusions, also. But don't quote me on that.

It was used that way, in WWII in the war in the Pacific, where coconuts were handy -- it has the same exact pH as blood, so it can be used as a blood expander, to prevent shock before they could get a blood transfusion.

I drink Starbucks Frappuccinos all day, like the mild stimulant effect and the taste ...

But got tired of paying almost $4 each for a 14 oz bottle ...

Started making them myself for about 1/10th the cost, there are good recipes on a number of websites, just Google "frappuccino recipe". Its just sugar, instant coffee, water, and lowfat milk, with vanilla or cocoa for flavoring. Homemade drinks don't have the preservative taste that the store-bought ones do. Now I can't drink the commercial frappuccinos anymore, they taste funny ...

DIY Frappuccinos ! :D

I am so glad to Finally see other folks saying what I have been saying for years! "Drink what ever you want or are use to!"
While there are times that my body and palette want straight water, most of the time I can not stand the taste or the feel after drinking it. My mouth actually gets dryer after straight water.

When I can, I get those fruit flavored, non-caloric waters. Normally that takes care of dehydration for me. Also, those Mio or Mio like flavors for water work great. Iced Tea is my fav!! ;)

Oh, yea.. Otherwise.. Coffee!!!!!!!!!!

I can't make myself drink water and coconut water taste like dirt to me. What else is good to keep you hydrated?

How have you NOT dehydrated and Died yet then? You "can't" make your self Drink Water. That seems a bit over-exaggerated!! And seriously, if you haven't drank water in this long and are still alive, why do you need to ask what you should drink instead of Water, you obviously have found an alternative that allows you to survive.

How was this thread not Closed or Deleted? And how is it 3 PAGES LONG???

I have not drank a glass of straight water in over a decade and I was over fifty then. I think it is interesting to read about what folks drink while vaping. More pages,,,please!

you guys realize tea and coffee are diuretics and make you pee off more than you actually take in from it (caffeine) I guess if you went decaf then sure.:p

Very true; I had to get rid of 80% of my regular-tea drinking before I could make any real progress with my dehydration/electrolyte mayhem -- it just made me pee constantly. Decaf tea doesn't do that.

My mouth actually gets dryer after straight water.

I get that too, and there's a good reason for it: sugar in your mouth makes your saliva thicker, and "slimier" -- if you rinse the sugar out, you get rid of that "slimy" coating, which actually makes your mouth feel a lot dryer.

I haven't touched sugar or corn syrups since 2001.

Oh, and for the comments on sports drinks. In the context of just vaping and drinking sports drinks to stay hydrated you guys are correct, but, but, but... if you are getting heavily dehydrated from a different activity like manual labor, in the sun, or sports. You should reach for the sports drink. All that sodium is there to replace what you sweat out, but it's no replacement for water. If you were drinking it, it should be maybe 1 sports drink for every 4-5 bottles of water. If your pee is clear, then you're hydrated. Two deployments to the desert have made me very experienced in what it means to lose hydration and the best way to get my fluids back up.
