Something happened to my e-cig this morning, and I cannot figure it out. Before I start, it is an eGo-C hooked into an eGo-T battery. I got up and took a puff... it tasted horrific. It was a really strong burnt taste. I changed the juice, same. I pretty much changed everything. I switched to a full strength battery, changed the cartridge, changed the juice, changed the atty head. Same nasty, burning taste. But it was really bad, not like anything I have ever tasted before. It made my throat really hurt and I even gagged and choked on it. So I took the whole thing down and switched over to the clearomizer for the day until I can get out to the local shop tomorrow. But I wanted to stop in here and see what the general thoughts are. The batteries are about 3 months old. The rest of the parts are one month or less old (that atty head was less than a week old). I stuck to the clearomizer all day without issue other than those short wicks being a pain. Any ideas on what went wrong?

I went out to the shop today and ended up getting a carto system. Possibly cheaper in the long run, too. I need to figure out what the pieces are as I've never had one before, but I need to order online. Saving money is a must right now. But I'd like to use the atty heads I have right now since I paid $35 a package for them. It's wasted money I can't afford.

I suck with the lingo. LOL! Still kinda new to all of this and am more of "this do-hickie here" kind of gal. LOL! This is the exact thing I got.

510 / eGo DCT / Tube Tank

It's the do-hickie in the middle of it that needs to be replaced every so often (not yet, I just bought this today and haven't used it yet, plus got three back up pieces). I need to figure out exactly what that is so I can replace it cheaper.

When this happens to my ego-t or ego-c .. I drop a drop right on the wick. If that doesnt fix it ... You need to boil it in distilled water for 10mins, then let COMPLETELY dry. Takes mine 24hrs + on the AC vent to dry. If you dont let dry 100percent it will hardly work and not be fun at all.

Im sure your local lvs will hook u up with something new .. Theres better stuff then ego c attys. I love tanks though.
Just clean the ego c, and keep it as a backup.

Taste Your Juice | Mini-Sub Tank from Mom And Pop Vapor Shop Check that video out and youll be a pro at it :toast: The attys are like 9.00 for 5 .. Very cheap but I got used to the taste of tanks and just cant use a cart. I wish I could, because their cheaper and easier to use FOR SOME. Good luck to ya .. Youtube videos will help u alot!!

Ive never used a tank with a cart in the middle. Again, I wish I did like them.

If anyone see's this and can comment what they thing the taste difference is I would appreciate it. Its so noticable I would like to know what others thought.

I'm keeping hope alive. I loved the taste I got from the clearomizer, but that thing was a pain in the rear trying to keep those wicks wet. I got a short wick one, but because of work and the nature of pockets in women's pants, I use a lanyard around my neck. So I was constantly twirling and flipping and it was making me crazy, especially because it drew more attention. Granted, it got a lot of people interested in vaping, but I'm not paid to sell e-cigs at work. He'd prefer I sell what we actually carry in the shop, which has nothing to do with smoking or vaping. LOL! So the guy at the shop had me at "holes on the bottom." LOL!

OK... now I can't get the tanks to work correctly. It appears I can't get the cartos wet. I've watched several videos on filling them up, I am doing everything exactly as they say I should, and I am getting nothing, just a burnt flavor. Do these not work at all with VG or what? I'm at the end of my rope here.

Oh, a DCT tank; nice. Be sure to prime that puppy before you vape with it.

You have to get the carto full of juice before you vape with it.

Newbies with tanks are the hardest to help IMO. They don't know how it should work without the tank, and the tank adds yet another layer of complication. I don't mean to offend, it's just hard to help.

The tank has to have enough juice, the holes punched in the carto have to be big enough, the PG/VG mix has to be flowing well (so 100% VG may not wick fast enough). Then there's the specific cartomizer and how it works. And the assembly/dis-assembly of the CE types, and the tank itself....

Have you tried just plain atomizers or cartos for a while 1st? Then you'll be able to "taste" what is going on with them and know how it should work. The tank is a cool thing to have...so it's not a waste. But it's harder to diagnose why that atty/carto was dry and gave you burnt hits.

1) Lose the tank if you can. You'll need atties/cartos that are not pre-punched tho.
2) Fill the carto with a syringe. Do a search for the carto type and filling.
3) Wipe the threads real well. Make sure it isn't still dripping...give it a few seconds and wipe again.
4) If you are using 100% VG, try thinning it with PGA or water. A few drops is all you need. Use a small "test sample" bottle and maybe 1 drop of water if you can.

If an atomizer: Blow it out 1st. Put 4 drops in it to prime it. Put a few drops into the cart (or just drip). Vape about 10-20 hits. Put 3 more drops in...)
