Check out doc dave's atomizers. If you want dual coil gennie, the steam turbine is hard to beat - very well thought out deck arrangement, stacked airholes, and tiny top cap for reduced air chamber size and increased flavor out of the vape. VapeRev currently has the Ti version in stock - if I had the cash, I'd be buying another right now. The bliss is also a very nice atomizer. Doc dave's stuff tends to be hard to get though.

If you don't mind a hybrid style device, the ihybrid fecta is one of the nicer atomizer setups that I've worked with and just flat works well. The pure is an economical version that is pretty much just as nice although lacking a couple of the bells and whistles available with the fecta.

All of the previsously mentioned atomizers come stock with pyrex/fused quarts tanks. Of course there are a lot of far cheaper atomizers out there that work pretty much as well (the richman genesis comes to mind).

If you're not dead set on a genesis, check out the kayfuns. They are a breeze to set up, and the flavor is top notch (particularly with cotton wick).

Great suggestions - thank you. I have my heart set on a genny because I want to use ceramic wicks. I have a Trident RDA I use now with cotton, and it's awesome, but I do taste the cotton. Looking for something that will impart absolutely no flavor of it's own to my vaping experience. Also of course, want something I don't have to drip into all the time :)

The DID looks pretty good -I've watched some very favorable reviews. It's not the prettiest thing in the world though (yes, aeesthetics are important to me too.)

The brass Senesis is gorgeous. Any idea of ease of use and vape quality?

I have two kinds of cotton right now. The first is sterile CVS cotton - no boiling needed. It does impart a very mild cottony taste right as the juice vapes away. Not much though. The second is an organic cotton grown with no pesticides. It does not impart any flavor (even without boiling) and is made for skin care, but it is not as absorbent as other cotton. It also leaves an odd feeling in my throat - again, only on the last hit when the juice is about gone. Both work reasonably well in a RDA (I have a Trident) and are much better than other wick materials, but I am really ready to expand my vaping experience and venture into the world of gennies.

Dude i recently tried silica in my rsst too, works ok but i still stick with mesh. i also tried ekowool since i read that was supposedly better than silica. Flavour was better, but it wicks too slow for me to use in a gennie.

I purchased some various diameter wire rope, 1mm., 2mm, 3mm. I was very disapointed, for me it didnt live up to par to mesh wicks, neither on flavour or vape, it also wicks slower, and much more powerconsuming (cuz its solid i assume).

This is just my opinion, but if u found a ss mesh wick size that works for u in ur gennie, it works better than wirerope.

i also wonder where to get ceramic wicks, and what are the pros and cons on those over ss mesh wick?

My personal taste is for ss mesh, sometimes wire rope. Since taste/flavor is such a subjective thing, I think I'd concentrate on flexibility and the ability to abide various set ups. When just starting with rebuilding, economy is another consideration. Currently, I think the new AGA-TD is a really dandy little atty for the money ($30, AGA-TD Dual Coil Rebuildable Atomizer - Kidney Puncher ).

Just for the record, there as many people who dislike ceramic (trouble wicking, poor flavor, difficulty to work with) as folks who do. The same can be said for all the other methods. Personal preference is impossible to predict.

Once you find what method you prefer (ss mesh <wink>), you can start to home in on the higher end atties. The best according to my preference is the Rocket. The GbB22 and the GkmF I'm also digging quite a bit. My AC9 runs like a champ on a Paps Lux and provides the best vaping experience for me as a pair. The Steam Turbine is my favorite dual coil device, but not so much in single coil. And the Senesis looks like a fine atty, and is according to reports. I'm on the lookout for one myself, though the pre order is over and we're pretty much subjected to the second hand market.

tl,dr: Try good inexpensive atties that are flexible enough to run various set ups until you find your sweet spot.

So from what I understand, ceramic is superior to silica and SS mesh and after a couple days break in period, wicks as well or better.

There are questions about the long term safety of using silica. Something about the way it degrades during use - particles getting into your lungs, etc. Hopefully someone with a better knowledge base than I can weigh in.

With SS mesh, although you may not be aware of it, there is a slight metallic taste added to your juice flavor. Also not sure about the safety of use over time.

With ceramic, from what I'm reading, there is zero taste and no danger of deterioration particles. It is confusing though because I've Googled ceramic wick and found different types. The kind I want is an actual hard piece of ceramic, though porous - not a fabric. Still, even the ceramic "fabric" may be better than silica. You can Google ceramic wicks or watch Rip Tripper's YouTube on them - he links to a couple of sources... still not the kind I am looking for, but he seems to be very excited about them.
