Hello guys, I need your help. I finally got my first starter vaping set today. A Joye 510 with VG liquid. I was so excited and everything was perfect until my throat started burning. I tried dripping couple times just to see what it was all about and used the device just the way it's supposed to be used then every puff started burning my throat. Any help would be much appreciated.

One mistake I made early on was to inhale the vapor directly, like a cigarette, which made the back of my throat burn. The recommended way is to draw a puff into your mouth, much like a pipe or cigar, then inhale the puff. Some vapers don't inhale at all, and as most of the nicotine is absorbed through the tissues in your mouth, it still satisfies the cravings. You can do that while your throat recovers. Don't forget to drink extra liquids - vaping dehydrates you, especially when you start. Congratulations for getting started and good luck!

I agree with what 440BB and MiamiMom63 said. Your body has to adjust to vapor just as it did when you first began smoking cigarettes. We all went through this in the early phase of vaping. Always have some water to drink while you vape, as the vapor and the components of e-liquid tends to dehydrate us. The sore throat and even coughing will diminish over a period of time.

And it is true that it's not totally necessary to inhale the vapor into your lungs to absorb the nicotine. Most is absorbed by the mouth and throat.

I also recommend that you exhale some vapor through your nose. Our sense of taste is closely related to our sense of smell. Since our taste buds have been damaged from years of smoking, our ability to taste our flavors can get an assist from our noses. You might be able to understand this better if you recall how food tastes bland when we have a head cold; this demonstrates how our sense of smell assists our sense of taste. Our taste buds will eventually heal back to normal after we have stopped smoking for a period of time.

If you are using cartridges or cartomizers, don't vape on them once they are low or empty of juice. Once the polyfill (the material in the carto that looks like a cigarette filter and holds the juice in the carto) becomes burnt from low or empty juice, the carto/cartidge is ruined and can not be saved. As soon as a carto appears to taste harsh, either refill with additional juice, or exchange it for a fresh one.

I do have 26mg but using 16mg nport VG liquid. I also puff the smoke into my mouth than take it down.

While I was searching Google for Joye 510 throat burn I came across a thread where someone advise to completely flush out the atty just in case the primer is still burning causing throat burn. So I flushed it with water, dried it out completely, then put a few drops in the atty and puffed away. So far so good:) on a side note, BOY DO I LOVE DRIPPING! The hit is so clean and hits the throat just right. Thanks guys. Hopefully the throat burn won't come back.

You are getting dry hits. its because of the low juice level, ditry coil or just wicking problem because of the thick juice (VG).
Real smoking/vaping/whatever IS direct inhaling. Whats the point of just taking it to your mouth - or - if you want to still get it to your lungs then you wont get enough smoke because mouth is way smaller than lungs.
Thats true that you must take way slower , not like with cigarettes. So im inhaling directly into lungs until its totaly "full". sometimes the battery starts to blink because it takes like 8-10seconds to fill my lungs :D

OMG, she didn't blow out the primer in her atty. LOL. I didn't realize she was using an atty. Yea, some atties have primer and taste really bad unless you blow them out good before using them. I gotta remember this next time a newb asks. LMAO! I had no idea you were using an atty. Sometimes it's hard to help newbs on here because we don't quite know what you are using and doing. Just glad you got it figured out :)
