I just got my vamo today, upgrading from ego twists w protanks. It's a solid build with VV VW ohm checker, and battery charge indicator. It runs about $50 then batteries and a charger for $30

Phill can say it better than me

I would say there's no reason to upgrade if you're happy. I mean the ego twist is a well recognized device as functioning well. I think you can get an equally great vape experience from it as from anything else..but I haven't tried the infamous provari...sooo maybe someone who has will tell you it's better, or... necessary.

A 1300 mah Spinner. Or else something with replaceable batteries. I decided my LT was too long and just bought a gripper, but really, I like the Spinner best...except it seems more "green" (and a little bit less trouble) to use replaceable batteries, then I don't have to unscrew the head when the battery runs out. But those are all a LOT bigger for the performance than the 1300 mah Spinner, which lasts all day, maybe longer. 2 of those and you're done.

However, the place where upgrading REALLY matters is the top, not the battery (assuming you have vv or vw)

I'm on the Vision Vivi Nova but I've heard there are better clearos out there. Still have not heard of one that NEVER leaks, though, the best I hear is "Well, hardly ever." I guess I'll stick with my Novas but I'd really like something that vapes the same but is leak-proof ALWAYS, and never pushes the post on my battery down too far, and can't easily get cross-threaded. AND has a replaceable sleeve inside -- people say you don't need that little woven fiberglass sleeve but I get shorts without it and they wear out.

Well done!

I went with a VAMO, mainly because of the cost. I don't need the bells and whistles on the Evic; I thought about the Provari, but didn't like the price - I got the VAMO for $40 and figured out how many I could get for the price of 1 Provari!

Love the VAMO - I actually don't go above 3.7v for any of my juices. I can't figure out why, but I get a much better hit from the VAMO at 3.7v than the Ego Twist at the same voltage. I still use the Egos for when I go out, but at home the VAMO wins out all the time.

In general, the Vivi Novas work well on the VAMO, but I have to play with some of the heads to not get some dry hits - I fluff the wicks out quite a bit. The heads with the one fat wick work better than the ones with multiple skinny wicks. I'm all out of the fatties right now, and am gonna play with re-wicking with cotton at some point.

But, I recently got a Kanger Protank, and have used it exclusively ever since - no dry hits!

Hope this helps.

Good point! I really like my twists, but when people rave about other devices I can't help but feel that I might be missing out on something better.

Congrats on 6 months I love my ego twist as well .. if your thinking of upgrading I recommend starting off small like a Vamo easy on the wallet and pretty versatile can run it in shorty mode with a 18350 battery or full size with a 18650 battery excepts just about anything you put on it with out a problem.. This way you will know if you like vv/vw if not then you can explore the wonderful world of mechanical mods. Good luck and happy vaping

I agree in theory, which is why I didn't upgrade for a couple of years. However, as I said in my post above, I get a much better hit from the VAMO at 3.7v than the Ego Twist at the same voltage. I still use the Egos for when I go out, but at home the VAMO wins out all the time.

And this happens when I take the tank off an Ego Twist and use the same one on a VAMO. I really can't explain this, but the difference is huge .

I have had 1000 and 1100 mah twists for about six months. one of the battery posts is crooked after being dropped a short distance on a hard floor, but both are still going strong. vamo might be the next step for me since i am interested in a vv device that works with an 18650 batt but i'm in no hurry as long as my twists are doing the trick. I do prefer smaller devices for more discreet vaping away from home.

There are so many options and so many opinions. ;) Me, I love my Provari... I never would have bought one for myself, but the geek surprised me with a pretty purple mini. For stealth vaping, I still use my GLV Mini on a regular basis. I also use a REO Mini anytime I'm traveling. Good luck finding your perfect device!

Been Vaping for 6 months now,, totally smoke free!!! Im currently using a ego twist with a vivi tank, Im interested in upgrading to something with a little more performance?? what is everyones thoughts and suggestions??

Hi Vdubaki. Welcome to the ECF, and congrats on your six months. Way to go.

As far as upgrading from a twist, here is my thought. What is it that the twist doesn't do for you ? Does it not have the ability to give you enough current to run a specific type of carto/atty/clearo? Is it the twist's lack of runtime in higer voltage output situtions?.... Do you jsu t feel like treating yourself to a more competent PV? Do you want to expand your vape arsenal to more complicated and heavier draw feed devices?

These are some of the questions that drove me personally through my upgrade paths. All of these could be overcome with a big battery mod like the vamo, zmax, provari etc. In all opinions the provari is the safest bet for money well spent with no real regrets for spending it. I personally can't think of one person who has decided to upgrade to it and said "meh" I just don't like it...... I personally do not own one but I have had one on loan and they are really very nice. I am an electronics nerd. I spend every day building electronics systems, reading specs, deciphering diagrams and training on new and improved methods of doing my chosen profession better. There is little substitute in our Vaping lifestyle for amperage output capability and battery capacity, Most every complaint in this realm can be addressed by one or both of these two.

If I where going to purchase an off the shelf unit, I personally would strongly consider the Sigelei Zmax like this > ElectronicStix.Com · Sigelei Telescoping ZMax V3 It provides 4amperes of output current and can house any length of 18mm round batteries from 18350 to 18650. It can be adjusted in both voltage output or adjusted for a specific wattage output. It has a nice easy to read and understand display. And for about $75 it is not overly expensive, at least as far as mods are concerned. Hey it cost me a little over $50 for parts just to build my own mod. This is one more product that in my opinion deserves considering. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Have owned the Provari and presently own Spinners and Twists. Also have a Vamo and without a doubt it definitely hits much better than my Spinners or Twists at the same voltage. Vamo I use at home or on long road trips and the Spinners for out and about. Just make sure you buy from a nearby reputable Vendor in case of issues. Mine is fine but a couple of friends got lemons.

Congrats on your vape journey! I myself used eGos then eGo twists for a while then started buying up tube mods and never really liked any of them, but since I've gotten my hands on an iTaste MVP I gotta say it's just about perfect. Long battery life, no need to buy batteries/charger just plug it in with a microusb cord, it's VV, has 510/eGo threading so you can still use all your devices, and at $65 for the "kit" with some clearos it seems a good deal to me. Not to mention its build tough as nails and IMO is pocket friendly as far as mods are concerned. Like I said, I LOVE mine over my other VV tube mods. I do keep a twist around for backup, though, it's a solid stealthy device.

I also love my vivi novas, come back to them time and time again. Some other delivery devices that I keep around are the eVOD and ProTank (although I'm afriad to leave the house with that one being glass)

If you're set on a tube mod from my experience I would recommend either a Zmax or Lavatube
