Geez, I go to work, come back, and we're on page 8 or 9 already! I feel bad that I'm digging back to page 4 to answer people! Oh wait, I don't feel bad at all...
Read the OP...apparently getting in someones face to vent was his goal. And now you presume to know what Anja would do if gender was reversed? Classic...
Ok, I have read what the OP has said, but nowhere did it state in the original post what the goal of this guy had. After your comment, we hear back from the OP, and get more of the story. I'll get to that in a minute, I want to address the part of knowing what Anja would do if gender were reversed. Now, I can't say with 100% certainty, but going on her posts, if I were a betting man, I would surely bet that the response would be much, much different than what it's been on this thread. She has railed on and on about women being weaker, victims, etc, so yeah, I'm sure we would not be getting nowhere near the same response if gender was reversed.
Anyway, here are the later quotes from the OP. Chas and the OP have pretty much the same theory, this guy was just itching to go off on someone :

Because the salesman was dealing with 8 or more customers at the moment, I was waiting behind them, and the man who did this was lurking in the next booth over watching for an opportunity. After putting on his coughing act with me and being nasty to me he quickly walked away. Hit and run.

Oh come now! That flea market is a HUGE place, and he was purposefully hanging out right next the the vape booth! If he'd had a long day of being vaped at he was looking for it in the first place. There are only two vape booths in that whole huge area at least 500 yards long by 300 yards wide. He CHOSE to be right where he could complain about vapor. Not the first time I've seen that done either.
It wasn't his booth he came at me from, so no, he'd not been put upon by vapers all day, and this blaming of vapers for his nastiness is something I don't care for. He was just a nasty man with a chip on his shoulder looking for someone to take it out on.

They were all waiting to talk to the vendor in the vape booth and talking with each other when this happened. I think there were 5 men there altogether, and the one that came at me did it so fast and left so quickly I doubt any of them noticed. The incident took no longer than 3 seconds, and the guy walked quickly away.
He knew what he was about, picking out the woman on the edge of the group there while the rest were otherwise occupied. He knew we were all vapers too, which I'm sure was the reason for his rapid departure, and FYI no one was blowing clouds.
No, the guy couldn't have been looking to see what was going on at the booth, trying to find out what was drawing a crowd, not at all. He was a malevolent person, just waiting to go off on an unsuspecting person, someone smaller, preferably a woman, lmao, I can't even continue with this!!!
Look, we don't know if the other 5 or 8 people were vaping as well, so to my understanding, the OP was the only one who was vaping. Secondly, it's human nature to see what is drawing the attention of other people, so the guy reasonably could have been looking to see what was so gosh darn exciting at this vape booth, what was so special that it was drawing a crowd. Think accidents on the highway. Still don't believe me about the human nature part, try this - go to a public outdoor space, where there is a number of people, (preferably more than 2, think crowd). Once you have people around you, tilt your head back, look up into the sky, and start to point. You don't even have to speak, drawing attention to yourself. Just look and point. Then, take a look around you. You
will see people looking up and pointing as well.
As I said above, as far as I know, only the OP was vaping, she said she was. The guy could've gone off simply because of the vape, with no regard for the person, (ie - we don't know if this guy chose the OP on purpose, or was it wrong place wrong time). We simply do not know. For us, mere readers of the thread, we were not there, so we can only speculate on the motives of the guy was. Secondly, because the OP did not know the guy, she cannot accurately say what his motives were. She's already biased by saying he was lurking, waiting for someone like her, etc, etc. Yes, the OP may have seen the "complaining lurker" approach before, so she might have a better feeling regarding those things. But was she observing her observer, or did she just glance around and see the guy there before the incident, and that was it?
If she
knew the motives of this guy, she really could've been a little more proactive, maybe like yelling something at the guy before he ran off.
Thank you very much, dear
Fact is: a man walked up to a woman and attempted to intimidate her. That is what the OP stated. And the OP is a woman. The woman whom this thing happened to, as a matter of fact.
I always "love" those "
and if? and if? " questions

In my mother tongue we have a saying "
And if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a bus"
I always "love" those people who try to be cheeky without actually addressing the point. Yes, the OP stated that she was, indeed, a woman, and that a man was the person who came up to her. I am not disputing those facts. Seriously, all you have done was further back up my position that if the roles were reversed, and a woman came up and accosted a man in a manner similar to what has happened to the OP, your response would be non-existent.
I do applaud you for your humorous attempt to deflect the issue, though. B- for effort.
