I think the chances of this guy acting as bad as he did would have been very slim if the op had been a man. Men don't tend to act like this toward each other often. Probably because they know if they approach another man with such disrespect he will likely get his ... kicked. But odds of getting his ... stomped by a woman are near nill.
He went out of his way to create the confrontation. Then ran off like a coward probably smiling to himself at how "he told her off". If it was a real issue he would have asked her to stop or stated that it bothered him and stuck around for a response.

well said. Well said indeed!
I remember another thread where a male vaper recounted an experience with some guy walking up to him and trying to intimidate him, while the male vaper was sitting down. The male vaper then stood up. Whereupon the oh-so-courageous would-be intimidator walked away quite quickly

Yes, bullies love to prey on those whom they perceive (!) as weak. Until the would-be bully discovers that the intended prey is by no means weak. Awwwww... :D

I disagree as I see men acting like this towards each other on the CB and at truck stops all the dang time.

You implied it by asking where all the men were. Who cares where they are. It was the lady's problem to deal with.

Actually, I didn't. I would have thought it would have been a normal reaction for men to intercede when a woman is being confronted. Perhaps not, at a flea market...

I accept that that was your intention but in reality if a woman waits for a mans "natural reaction" to a situation like this she is going to get trampled nearly every time. Men frequently DON'T jump in. A smart woman just handles it on the spot without waiting for and intercession by God or man.

Yes, yes, your rhetorical games are very cute. Here's a cookie.

If you had started this conversation with a straightforward account of all the relevant facts as you see them, then we could have discussed the matter like adults. But your habit of leaving us with clear implications and then dancing away from them after your not-so-oblique arguments have been refuted? That's not gonna fly.

I notice with some amusement of my own that even in this latest effort you still fail to mention what policy was ultimately enacted on the campus in question. Not that I care at this point; it's just funny that even now you can't quite bring yourself to make a strong statement of fact to refute me, even as you insinuate that I'm so wrong as to be ridiculous.

Have a good night, Zoid. I'm done.

You make a good Argument. I'm just not sure what you are Fighting?

I see no reason to Refute you. You feel that the Policy that was Enacted on my Campus was done by "petty fuctionaries up and down the ladder are far too quick to exert what power they have."

That fine. Your are entitled to your opinion.

But I would think that a person would want to know what the Policy Was before they Lambasted these "dyed-in-the-wool ANTZ". Just say'n.

I'm done here also. You have a good night Fulgurant.

Actually it really is not a normal or usual reaction......Bystander Effect | Psychology Today
This doesn't just apply to women being confronted by men, it also applies to men in a confrontation with each other.

Correct...although I know there are folks who don't like Wikipedia, this entry gives the gist of what happened Murder of Kitty Genovese - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
But back on topic..my view is, you don't mess with folks you do know unnecessarily and you certainly don''t mess with folks that you don't know unnecessarily because quite frankly, you don't know what kind of bag they're going to come out of.

Ya know, there are several members of this community that take a lot of there own time in doing reviews, events, research, and you name it. They do it for us. So we can have the information we need, and devices we use. They are 110% deticated to this community, and I can garantee that not one of them would support some of the comments that I have read here.

This is how we support them?

This is the thanks they get for all they do for us?

This is very upsetting to me, because this is the kind of thing that can ruin everything that these people have busted their butts for.

And we even have some veteran members that are supporting this type of behavior.

Way to go team...:(

You are making some really big assumptions here. I'm sure whoever you think you are speaking for can very well speak for themselves.

That's true. Some people are nut bags. I was walking down the street one day just walking along, puffing away on my ELA and listening to the hard core classics like Hansen's MMMBop and singing along "Mmmbop, ba duba dop, Ba du bop, ba duba dop, Ba du bop, ba duba dop, Ba du, Yeah, Mmmbop, ba duba dop, Ba du bop, Ba du dop, Ba du bop, Ba du dop, Ba du, Yeah!" when I bumped into this guy getting off of his motorcycle. I apologized and told him I was really sorry, I was just caught up in the music. He starts screaming at me and pushing me against the bar he was going into and telling me he is gonna kill me. His buddies inside yelled "Kill him Cobra!" I did the courteous thing and through my manly but screaming like a school girl tears, I offered to buy him his first twenty dollars worth of beers. He said "You are luck you aren't dead!" and walked off into the bar. His jacket said Hell's Angels but I didn't think his behavior was very angelic but I didn't have time to tell him because I had to go to the bathroom. People are NUTS. After about 10 minutes of not being able to find a restroom, I walked back and diarrheaed in his gas tank and wizzed on his tail pipes because he gave me ........ in the first place.
