My dad had a manpurse living in France where such things were considered normal. He loved it. LOL, when we moved to the US, the hazing must have been merciless because he took it to work(once). LOL.

I feel for dudes, you need fortitude and strength (back then at least) to carry the manpurse.... :)

Anna

It’s hard being a man.

When I was in my early teens for a few years us boys had to take our stuff to school in a leather briefcase. There were 2 types. One was a flat briefcase with no handle that opened with a zip along 2 sides. The other was bigger with a handle and it hinged open at the top.

Only hopeless losers used the ones with a handle.

There were 3 ways to carry the flat ones.

Some guys carried them with their hand on the bottom and the briefcase tucked up in their armpit, clamped between their upper arm and chest. That was comfortable but almost as nerdy as having a handle.

The second way was to hold them by the bottom with your arm straight. That was sort of OK.

But the really cool way was to hold them by the top. That took some serious hand strength, especially when they were full of books. After a while your hand started to cramp up with agonizing shooting pains, but you never let it show. It was worth it though because the girls were really impressed when you did it that way. They were, right, Anna?

That’s how you learned to be a man back in the old days.

That is the story of my life. The wrong clothes, the wrong bookbag, the wrong watch. Always picked the wrong one. :D

Craigslist, $100; it is on my shoulder every day for a couple years, nobody has ever given me ..... Maybe the fact that I pull out bite gauntlets, pepper spray, and an ASP baton makes my man purse less sissy!

Now all the women here know what happens when a man has more stuff with him than will fit in a pocket.
He gives it to his wife/GF to carry in her purse. Keys, extra cigs, mod...yeah you've all done it, haven't you? If we were as smart as we think we are, we would have invented something like a purse for ourselves, and used it from the start! Nope, with us it's either bulky toolbox/briefcase or just the wallet.

Some things are beyond mortal comprehension, like the amount of stuff girls need to have with them for a trip to the restaurant. I always figured a few extra odds and ends isn't going to make much difference. Anyway, if you're a guy and you go out you always have to be ready to fight enemies or kill an antelope for dinner or something, so you don't want to be encumbered by a bag.

In the late '60s and early '70s I remember the 'hippies' at the Head shop all had 'stash bags' hanging on their belt. Sort of a forerunner of the fanny pack, only on one side, usually. The bikers and truckers all have those giant wallets on a chain. How far removed are we from just giving in and carrying a perfectly practical bag of some sort? The worst part of it is that women know this, and know they have the better system, but (maybe due to their father's or other male influence) they also would scorn a man who decided to carry something resembling the humble handbag.:D Ya can't win.

It is such a shame that a lot of men don't feel comfortable using a man bag. When I was married (in the late 80's and 90's) my husband always used a man bag. I thought he was the bees knees! And he never copped any grief over it either. The man bag should be a thing, I say.

I don’t remember what the one in the left is. Works fine still, I think it’s 3 years old now. But it’s way too heavy lol. You can see I love the Isticks. Not very sexy, but they have been crazy dependable for me.

The Power and the Tarot nano are the newest. Not sure if I’m crazy about that Herakles tank yet, but it sure is pretty. Totally love the Tarot. Yes, I bought it because it’s called Tarot ( I read cards) and it’s fancy. But it really works well too. I love the airflow on the top of the tank.

There's a reason I wear trousers with leg pockets
I only wear cargo pants, or carpenter jeans anymore. And big bulky coats with lots of pockets. By this time of year I usually start wondering How I'm going to get around for the next six months, but fortunately for now it's still threatening snow :D
