I thought it might be cool to see what the community does for a living,

Me - Line Technician for BTS (Bell Canada) - I do all sorts of various things - for the past 3 years, I have been a lead-hand doing building qualification testing for Fibe-TV - The GTA & Montreal is now online with Brampton, Oakville, Burlington & Hamilton to follow shortly. Ottawa, Kingston & London - end of year or next year. If you live in the GTA, I may have visited your building.

I am the sole shipper/receiver for a small plastics manufacturing company. Not a whole lot of fun stuff goes on there (I think I have the best position there since I'm the one with all the variety in my day). Some of the manufacturing crew get stuck on a really boring job making simplistic menu or sign holders that go into the thousands - so lots of monotony in their day.
I barely get a chance to look at the clock or check my emails I'm so run off my feet. Oh yah, I guess having a bunch of lazy asses to work with who need to ask me questions every 2 minutes because they don't know how to look for things themselves also adds to my busy-ness.
For the most part I'm happy to just have a job (and its been that way for the 8 years I've been there) but this year I want to look for something different. I will miss driving the forklift there if my next job is totally different, because I kick some serious .... when it comes to forklift driving :)

I'm a brain imaging research scientist at a children's hospital. I run a research program using MEG and MRI and do clinical work ups on kids that are candidates for brain surgery.....usually for tumours, epilepsy, AVMs. My research is mainly in language and motor function, though it's been mostly in language studies for a while now. My most recent projects are experiments with functional and structural changes and differences among bilingual subjects and subjects who learn parts of novel languages...basically functional/structional scans before and after a language learning program.
