I'm a brain imaging research scientist at a children's hospital. I run a research program using MEG and MRI and do clinical work ups on kids that are candidates for brain surgery.....usually for tumours, epilepsy, AVMs. My research is mainly in language and motor function, though it's been mostly in language studies for a while now. My most recent projects are experiments with functional and structural changes and differences among bilingual subjects and subjects who learn parts of novel languages...basically functional/structional scans before and after a language learning program.

I am a Paramedic by trade Serial Vapist by night. I also do volunteer work with urban search and rescue Here is a pic of me getting my high angle rescue certification........look out below :D

You, Gentlemen, are heroes.

No other oilfield engineers out here?

VoiceOver guy. I have a studio in my basement.

EDIT:

I've worked as a TV/video editor for many years but have been switching to "voice acting". Thank heavens I switched from smoking to vaping. Here's what my voice sounds like (click the animation). http://www.maintenanceassistant.com/

Hey, someone else that works in their jammies, awesome!

vaping made a difference for me. But I still don't like to have a vape 15 mins before I record.

I use an MXL990 and an MBox2 mini running Protools.

I work in a small hospital laboratory. I draw blood from patients and do all the analysis. Blood isn't all we do,, we have to deal with just about any fluid (or solid!) that comes out of a human body. My little side job is autopsy assistant.. not a requirement of the job, but certainly the most interesting part.

I work in the exciting field of customer service!

Well, not quite that kind of customer service, I left retail years ago. I'm a little further up the food chain now working at the head office of an outdoor power product and parts distributor. The pay is good for the work I do and the work environment is the best I've encountered, pretty laid back, hands-off kind of "as long as it doesn't interfere with your job duties, have at it" environment, and all my co-workers are friendly, so it's pretty stress-free. I mean, apart from the occasional idiot I have to deal with. But everyone has those. :)

I've done other professional side projects, mostly music-related. I've got some tunes in a couple of iPhone apps, which was fun.

Adjuster Support for an independent Insurance Adjusting company. Just got my Level 1 license a few months ago so, if I could afford to buy a vehicle, I could actually start going out into the field and being a 'real' Insurance Adjuster. lol. Actually really like my job. I find it very interesting. And ... for any of you looking for a career change ... the industry is crying for Adjusters across the board! You might want to check into it.
