I wasn't planning on complaining about housework but, anyone who tells you to use vodka you wasted money on to clean carts works to clean the ba
throom, pls report to me. I don't recall who gave me that bad advice but, it not only doesn't clean anything, it stinks to high heaven! (I had to go out and
buy a floral scented cleaner, a LARGE febreeze and some poupeaurri (sp? sorry, I don't feel like looking up the word for dried, fragrant flowers in French right now.) before it didn't smell like I was getting smashed in the bathroom! Albeit, the open windows and fans)
What saves time? Nothing. lol! I have a routine and keep the floor for last. I have dogs too but one is staying w/ my sis and the things I find on the floor (mostly stashed cookies) my dog also drags onto my bed when I'm not home. It's a slight time saver when changing sheets since there's nothing but cookies all over the floor.
Don't know if this would help those with shedding dogs but, I vacuum mine with the attachments. I've been tempted to get one of those "As seen on TV" 'specialty' dog brushes that you put on the vacuum but the brush one does the same thing! My dog isn't going to make friends with the vacuum either way, but it does help. I save bath-time for last but don't wait even a minute after doing the floors (carpeting but I mean I steam clean sometimes - like every to every other month) My dog likes to take a nap after a bath-gets upset if I take off the towel. I change it for a dry one and throw her stuff in the laundry last. Seems to work. The other one is too energetic to trust around drying floors & gets a bath after the carpets are dry - doomed to sit in the laundry room til she dries - usually try to use a hair dryer. When we can afford it, both go to the groomers, otherwise only the smaller one goes since they have to. A time saver there is asking the groomer for a really short cut. For at least 4 wks, there's nothing to shed & is great in the summer!
Otherwise, I have no answers, just never hire a housekeeper who charges by the hour instead of the day. I learned the hard way and can't do that very often to begin with. They get nothing done as fast as someone who just wants to have a shorter day; got left having to a lot myself. 8-o)
One day I'll the extra $ to give myself a break again but, until then... I tend to only tidy things, minus dishes and the bathroom and, leave the rest for a once/wk big clean day. Maybe setting the clock back would help me feel like I've saved time?????
I hate having to do housework but, it's my favorite topic next to guys not helping in the least, to complain about.
