I am curious why you decided to switch from smoking to vaping.

I smoked for 16 years, and didn't really think I would make the switch to vaping after trying it about 5 years ago. But a few months ago when my at the time 15 month old son started avoiding me after I came inside stinking of second hand smoke I decided to make the switch. A few days later I was walking down the street by my apartment and happened to notice a new vape shop opened up, I walked in bought a starter kit, and never looked back. I now use a mechanical mod, and am at 3mg of nicotine. It is amazing how much healthier over all I feel. Whats your story?

I had quit trying to quit years ago. But then I developed a health problem that makes my hands almost completely numb. Dropping lit cigarettes is really, really bad for your health, and much more immediate than most of the other problems.

I already knew that patches and gum and lozenges didn't work for me, so I checked out vaping. I was lucky enough to find ECF before I bought anything, so I found out about square and box shapes that work especially well for me.

Of course three months later we had a chimney fire and lost our house anyhow, but at least it wasn't my fault.;)

I got tired of being sick and tired all the time. Not being able to go for jogs, walks, or even ride very far without having my chest feel like it was going to explode. And, I got tired of stinking like .... (see what I did there?) all day...

Went into a local B&M and bought an EVOD clone, clearomizer, and a bottle of 555 at 14mg and haven't looked back!

Currently, I'm using my Stingray mech with a Plume Veil @ .74 ohms and waiting for my FBT mech and Kanger AeroTank...

God, I hate this new hobby!

Congrats on your quit time.

I tried it for the first time out of sheer curiosity. I had seen a few web ads for them and wondered what it was all about. So I ordered a cigalike kit and was amazed by the first puff at how very similar it was to smoking. I used these things for a very short time and made (making?) several transitions along the way. Best decision I ever made after the worst...starting smoking in the first place. Plus I find I can do without my vape much longer than I ever could without a cigarette. Now I figure like this....cigarettes cost me on average $1.75/pack for the first 22 years I smoked, and then let's call it $5 a pack for the next 13.

12(365*1.75) + 13(365*5) = $35,952.50 for cigarettes. Dayum!!! Can you say college fund?

I smoked for almost 40 years combined. I was getting short winded and wheezing something fierce at night. I saw a display of Blu disposables at 7-11 one day and decided to give them a try in place of my customary 3 packs every other day. I moved on to V-2 products for a few months until I discovered the Kanger Tech Evod. I'm very happy with them and proud to say that I've been cigarette free since June 12, 2013. I still smoke a cigar on occasion, but haven't been tempted to go back to cigarettes.

A coworker who normally joined the smokers at break times showed up with a starter ecig. I was clueless before that. I watched him using that for a couple weeks and finally asked him to pick one up for me. The day I started my cigs declined 80% to 4 a day. Over the next 6 weeks I prepared. Better devices, experimented with liquids and habits, basically learned to vape (I'm still learning to vape). A couple weeks ago I let the cigs run out and haven't felt the need to get more.

My smoking had become a source of anxiety. I relieved the anxiety by smoking, right? I feel a lot less anxiety these days.

I wasn't even trying to quit when I bought my first ecig. It was one of those crappy Njoy disposables. I figured I would try it and see if I could reduce my pack-a-day, which was getting expensive. The Njoy lasted about an hour, yet claimed it was equivalent to two packs. I knew there had to be something better. Hopped on the internet found out about evods/egos. A week later I was driving through town and found a new vape shop. That was back in February and I haven't looked back.

1: Availability.
The option being available made it possible to try it out.
2: Trial.
I tried cigalikes and found it could work.
3: Potential to cut cost.
Vaping could be cheap. Cigarette don't have that option.
4: Ashtrays and smell.
Got rid of the ashtrays and no longer have to wonder how bad my car or my house smells.

5: Health.
I guess the fact that I was in hospital with a lung infection a year earlier was also an incentive to work it, even if it was more expensive to get started and stick with it.

I had given up on ever being a non-smoker. I had tried and failed with every attempt during my 40 some years smoking. I saw a coupon and decided to get a kit because I thought it would save a tiny bit of money. Who knew that before long, I would prefer vaping over smoking. Been a year and a half and I am still loving vaping. I almost think I am more addicted to it than I was smoking. Of courses it could have something to do with the wonderful people I have met through ecf.

Had been telling myself for a long time that "I should quit" (this was a little over 4 years ago.) I was working with a client back then when he pulled out his cigalike and was puffing on some sort of blue punch flavor. Got interested (and I like gadgets :D) and ordered a cigalike kit. Welllllll, it wasn't quite all it was cracked up to be. Kept smoking.

Year later, tried again, as I was going on a week-long trip and wouldn't have the opportunity to smoke real cigarettes. Still not what I "needed" and bought a pack as soon as I got home.

Eighteen months ago, I got the shock of my life when I saw my 6'2" uncle who'd withered to about 100 lbs (he was in the final throes of lung cancer. Had been watching him deteriorate for about 3 years prior to this.) He passed in August, 2013. STILL kept telling myself I needed to quit.

February, resurrected the cigalikes and got blank cartridges and juice - experience was a *little* better, but still not quite what I *needed*. Found ECF and saw the light :)

I'll be nine-months smoke-free next week. Yes, I've been tempted, but no, I haven't let myself take a drag off anything but a vape....

Heh. I was buying my regular carton when I saw a Blu disposable and was curious so I bought one. Fiddled with it, started liking it, then got busy... and freaking forgot to light up the rest of the day. I was... I don't know how to describe just how weird that was. I was a pretty heavy smoker. I didn't "forget" to light up. Not for nine freaking hours.

Two days later I returned the unopened carton to the store and said, "I think I'm quitting smoking". No, those exact words. It was surreal. Nothing had worked. Not gum nor patch nor pill... nothing. Then it was, "oops, forgot to smoke!"

Six weeks later, I was throwing ashtrays in the trash because I needed more room for my juices...
