Are you serious? Jeez. Maybe if u don't use the thing for 2 months at a time. Good stainless steel mesh will not rust or taste metallic. You need to properly oxidize the mesh before using it.

Take a look at silica wicks and see what you are vaping into your throat and lungs. Not too pretty.

Agree with your first statement, but not the second. While it is true you don't want to shred a dry silica wick and inhale the fibers, a wick that is soaked with juice is not going to let those fibers get airborne. One's biggest risk with silica would be when handling a dry wick during a build.
