Bluebishop, here's a very similar coil that I built with 26g. Wrapped around a 3/32 drillbit, it ohm'd out at 1.1 and I ran it at 12 and 14watts on the ZNA. I didn't have much success with 50/50 PG/VG juices. No idea why.. :(

The only difference I see is that your coil is at an angle whereas mine is at 90* to the build deck.

Hmm....sometimes my coil is just like yours ( if I use thinner gauge )....the way yours look , it should be perfect! Both Cucco and I use mechanical mods...and that means with our builds we are running more watts than you are....about 29 watts...of course will drop as the battery wears, but I change batteries around 3.6 volt range ( for me that's notice a huge drop in vapor production, warmth and hit).....

Is it not wicking properly for you?? I can't comment of 50/50 juice as I order 100% VG

50/50 should wick a lot better than 100% VG, as the 50%PG in the juice would make it thinner. Yeah, I notice wicking issues and have to take the occasional dry pull on the KFL so that it forces the juice to wick. Weird huh?!

no doubt about this length of coil. although reducing your resistance might get you more vapor because of higher wattages, its counter intuitive to reduce the length of coil. having just 4 or 5 wraps now is not that good. either buy some thicker gauge wire or tri-twist the 32g you have. in a micro coil I feel the minimum wraps should be about 7 . although you could tri twist the 32g to increase the wraps, I would recommend purchasing some 28g or even 26g kanthal. do you own a multi-meter? just wondering how efficient your mod is, or what the voltage loss could be. although you issues can be with your kayfun build, it also can have to do with the power or efficiency of your mod. it is entirely possible that even with a freshly charged battery that after voltage loss, the voltage actually firing the atty might be as low as 3.5 or lower volts so even with a 1-ohm coil your lucky to be getting 10 watts, at 10 watts your just not going to have a ton of vapor. there are so many factors involved really and sometimes it takes a while to align all variables to get that awesome vape, welcome to the world of rebuildables.

Sorry, got distracted while intending to reply and totally forgot.

Yes, I do own a good auto-zeroing DMM and know how to use it (Mech.Eng). What I don't have is an online Volt meter. I'll try to rig something with a 510 adapter to avoid needing to sprout another pair of hands. I also have a good supply of 28Ga but hadn't thought of getting lower Ga's. I'll get the calculator out and compute what kind of twist I need. I crafted an ugly rig to twist wire easily. I have a good supply of 28, 30, 32 & 36 Ga's. Yesterday I got a pair of the newer green Sonys that have a very flat discharge rate and a Fogger v4. My next build I'll shoot for 0.8Ω on an uneven dual setup. One flavor coil and another for vapor vol. :)

Hmm...make sure your wicks are not pushed in too tight, nor covering the channels. Also...some VG juices are mixed with distilled water and arent super thick...the juice Cucco and I use isn't super thick..very much like 50/50 juices Ive used in the past. Your coils look perfect by the way...wish mine looked that good!!

The thickness would definitely be a factor here. The 50/50 I have is definitely syrupy thick compared to the 70/30 or 80/20 stuff I use. I take a lot of care to make sure that my coils are not overstuffed.. So, lets just blame the juice and move along. :)

I've spent a lot of time vaping Bobas out of my Kayfuns and if your wick isn't impacting the channels you shouldn't get dry hits. I would try a different wicking strategy before messing with viscosity of your juices. I vape Bobas almost daily with zero dry hits. It can be done, I promise!

WHY this.. Why BOBAS?! I have a 100ml bottle of it here somewhere..

You guys are talking about "original" Kayfuns right? Not the deep groove replicas that came out later that help with wicking? Sorry, but have to ask.

No...not a replica.. A authentic Kayfun lite plus V2...I don't know how that compares to a standard KFL or older 3.1's

Ok.. I have 4 KFL's and 1 V2.. How do you have your air-flow control? wide open, or restricted, in order to allow more juice on the draw?

Dusty....I just built a twisted 32ga 1.34 coil and have the cotton pushed up against the deck just touching the base away from the juice channel....cotton just like your picture with just a little resitance...does the cotton move away from the deck when you draw?

Forgot to add...my airflow contol is backed out flush with the bottom of the base.

Hmm....I guess kinda in the middle? I don't like too "airy" if I did I would use a atomizer....I like some what of a medium draw...

I have KFLs and a KFL+ V2. My KFL+ V2 is set with the screw pretty much flush with the bottom. But, I am currently using KGD for wicking. That requires a bit more air-flow. If I was wicking with my rolled cotton, I would be tightening my airflow a bit.

Interesting points both. I'll need to try the 50/50 on my + V2, and restrict the draw a bit since I'm using a cotton roll. I've got some Muji cotton coming in from HongKong but it may be a couple more weeks before it gets here.

Authentic all the way!! I won't buy replicas/clones.
