Just like everything else with vaping, one man's trash is another man's treasure. I see a lot of eGo bashing on here, but I own both twists and a Provari and I use my twists way more than I do the Provari, so . . . take each post with a grain of salt and realize that even though one or two or thirty people on here tell you something is awful, it might end up being your favorite PV. A twist might be a nightmare PV for some and a godsend for others. Many only like dripping or mods while others are ditching their VV's for NJoy King disposables. You might consider buying bridgeless attys for dripping a mistake while it is the Holy Grail of vaping for many. I read threads bashing Stardusts on here all the time, but they are my favorite of all tanks, clearos, cartos, etc. Some swear by Boges and Kangers. Boges give me zero flavor and lots of dry hits and the Kanger draw is way too airy for my taste, but I'm very happy they work nicely for others.

My point is, you can't read through a thread like this and say to yourself, "Whoa, I'm was about to order a -----. Glad I didn't because this guy says it was the biggest mistake he made," because you can find hundreds of other posts on here from people who are thrilled they bought that same item. Unless you find a thread where many many members are complaining of leaking or misfiring or something mechanical with a piece of hardware, the rest is just personal preference.

Threads like these are fun to read and post in, but they shouldn't dissuade newbies from doing more research before deciding what to try and what might work best for them.

Just my two cents.

Not cleaning the threads and posts of the battery and carto/device so there is no power connection.

Tasting a flavor change in a cart and thinking I can get one more toot out of it and I end up burning it and throw it away.

Thinking that there is enough juice in that bottle to last me..... and finding out the ship time is too long for my estimation.

Not having enough charged batteries so you are never without, ugghh analogs?

A spare battery for your spare battery, IMO four minimum so if one dies you are still good during shipping and if another dies, unlikely, you still have two to keep you going during the transition.

Buying a flavor of juice in a big bottle because so many people said it's wonderful, to find out it is not for me.

Thinking that cheaper juice in China is they way to go and save money, you get what you buy.

Ordered 150.00 of e-juice from one vendor, 4 flavours. Did this before I found ECF.
Fortunately I was able to "modify" this order before it shipped.
Made a good choice(for me) skipping disposables, going right to Provari(v1).
But then I bought LR cartos and clearos to go with it. 2.8ohm resistance is
best for what I need from vaping.

Ordering back-ups before knowing what my daily go to devices were.

I may have a handful of stuff I don't use or vape but it's just a part
of the vaping learning curve. The dollar amount is still far less than
the cost of 1 carton of smokes(75 bucks).

My mistakes came in the form of thinking advertising meant popular and high quality.

My boss at my old job ordered a complete package (spent tons of unnecessary money) with a huge kit from Eversmoke. I liked the idea of not smelling like an ashtray but didn't want to spend that in case I couldn't make the transition.

So I purchased the Njoy from a local convenience store. The ONLY reason I was able to give up analogs was because I ran to the bank one day, never had a cigarette, only my Njoy and the attractive woman working the teller window literally leaned forward to smell me and said, "Wow you smell good.. what cologne is that?" .. to which I could only reply.."uhhh... Soap??" LOL.. It was then I realized how bad I'd smelled for 11 years.

After successfully giving up analogs I wanted a better quality and V2 ads were all over the net. I LOVE their Sahara flavor and use it in my Provari even but I wasn't fond of their batteries, blank cartos, etc..

I saw the tank systems in a video on YouTube but at the time, didn't think I was ready for VV.. So I went with the Inferno from Volcano. Good device if you want tanks but don't care about VV. Though it was only 2 months after purchasing the Inferno that my Provari was in the mail LOL!!

As many others have pointed out though, all that matters is what your satisfied with. If cheap convenience store brands work, then why change? My problem is that I was just never really satisfied by anything until I got the Inferno. But after using it with various liquids, I saw the reason and need for having different cartos and being able to change your voltage, so I definitely stand behind my Provari ... but I will say I still really do love and use the V2 Sahara liquid..

I ordered too much at the beginning when I was really excited about quitting smoking. I ordered too much juice I would later hate. I ordered a lot of stick batteries that would end up as backups to my backups. I tried every new shinny object. I don't regret most of it, it is after all a learning curve. Still, I should have taken it slow while I figured things out.

Bought a 510 starter kit while I waited for the good stuff to come in the mail. I should have saved the $39.99. That being said, I still kept my original Njoy Npro from 2007. Now it too, is a conversation piece. My biggest mistake of all was not keeping tabs on the e-cig industry. I should have known it would get better...

My worst mistake had to be my assumption that only tobacco juices would keep me away from cigarettes. When I first considered switching after smoking for twenty years, I thought a similar flavor would make the transition ... seamless? Ick. They all smelled so horrible that I could not even imagine vaping them. Only two samples from the tin were liquids I could vape: malibu and menthol (strange, I could barely stand menthols).

The Malibu sample I purchased from Halo kept me away from the combustibles until I ran into the dreaded dead battery. Two puffs on that bad boy and I thought I would wretch. The taste? Eww, the taste stuck in the back of my throat for hours. I discovered a sweet spot with fruit flavors, so I am pretty stoked about continuing the journey.

the only mistake that I made, if you consider it a mistake. I wish I wouldnt have wasted money on so many cheaper VV devices, because if you add up all the cash I spent on them I could have a provari. I find that if you post on here something you are unsure of you will have way more info than you may even want with in 24hrs usually.

Oh, the mistakes!

- Not coming here as soon as I heard of the place. It is amazing, and I thank the mods and everyone that has contributed to the wealth of knowledge here. I could/will spend days just learning!

- Buying clove flavors to replace the clove cigs I smoke. Something is missing there, and it tastes horrible!

- Tapping the ecigs to ash them. I still do this occasionally, and the sound lets the whole room know I did it.

That is just for starters...

I was introduced to vaping when a local store began selling Njoy Kings disposable e-cigs. For me, the realization that I could replace smoking with something relatively harmless lit a fire under me to research and get started on a more affordable solution asap, especially considering I've already had a run in with cancer this year (not lung cancer). I think I did pretty good. I found this forum, read and watched many videos, and ended up picking the Vamo with ego clearomizers. I'm not picky yet. Just ready to start feeling my lungs heal after years of abuse from smoking and elated that I can get satisfaction without the same (if any) harm.

I use to smoke about 30 cigs a day, Salem Slim Light 100s. In the past year I managed to cut back to between 5-12 cigs a day, depending on what I was doing.

First mistake that I've noticed..
The first juices I ordered with my device were 30 ml Vanilla and 15 ml Menthol, both Hangsen, both 18 mg. I love vanilla bean ice cream, so assumed vanilla would be my favorite. Wrong. I find it disgusting and will keep it as backup for times when I may run out and just need anything but a real cig. I should not have ordered big bottles.

The menthol is pretty good and more like what I'm use to. Do most newbs have to start off with flavors that are closer to the cigs they're use to? What mistakes have you made that wasted your money?

dude u gotta be careful with hangsen eliquids, they are from china, im using it now too and it suck, im using usa mix T.T

To be quite honest, I regret buying into the V4L system at all. I'm considering giving the entire kit away as a gift for a good friend who is a heavy smoker, as it is "decently usable" but in my opinion hardly worth the $100 I spent on the kit and cartos. I was looking for something convenient for travel, but the result is so unreliable and unpleasant that I'd rather spend an extra hour bottling up e-liquids to take them on the road.

I regret this purchase more than I regret V2's Vapor Couture batteries, which I find aesthetically unparalleled when it comes to mini/cigarette style batteries. Sure, they're incompatible in threading with everything else out there, but they look fabulous.

The V4L VTs have extremely unreliable battery activation (on the auto) and the manual broke within a day. The guy who issued me an exchange over the phone was surly on the brink of outright rudeness. The quality of cartos is wildly unpredictable and the MAJORITY of about 15 flavors I've tried all simply taste like burnt dry filler.

No real hardware issues. I moved away from Ego's etc quickly and within a couple of weeks had a ProVari and a VMod XL. Now have a couple of each and a slew of genisis devices.

My mistake was spending loads on juice that I hated. Then found the Juice of the Year thread and tried the top 4.....2 of them I still vape and have in 100ml+ bottles. I still visit it from time to time when things are feeling stale but most of the time I DIY.

Starter devices I know now are usually over priced and a pretty average vape but hey have to learn somehow.
