Well bars/clubs typically have smoking sections no?

Not in San Francisco. Outside, the majority of businesses have signs posted, which prohibit smoking within 20 to 25 feet of door ways.

In Las Vegas, you may smoke inside of the Casinos. Even then there are no smoking areas. There was a time when I could smoke at a poker table while playing. That has changed, as well.

In locations where smoking is prohibited, I don't bother vaping.

Greetings alex8039!

I have been out at bars on more than several occassions I bring along my EgoT of course. It certainly attracts attention, often times from curious smokers. I relish the opportunity to tell my story of quitting smoking. If I am able to get just one of those people to give it a chance I consider it a huge win.

I was out on St. Patricks Day at a local watering hole, great atmosphere lots of people so on and so forth. Glancing off to the corner I notice an older woman probably in her early 60's "stealth vaping" with a cig-alike model. I catch her eye and motion her over while hypnotically dancing my EgoT at her. We spoke for a good 30 minutes about our experiences quitting, she was having a very hard time with the convenience store bought model. I gave her what information I could, website and such. A little while later her son came over to our table to thank me, she had given him the website and starter kit info. He just whipped out his i-phone and ordered it for her right there.

You'll get looks, no doubt about it. I try to use them as opportunities to educate and spread the word to anyone who asks about it. I am so happy to have FINALLY quit smoking, nothing has ever worked so well nor been so enjoyable.

Vape on! :vapor:

Can't say I'm too surprised, I remember hearing about health-nut attitude of SF, bordering on elitism.

I volunteered at a golf tournament and vape when there wasn't much activity. Nobody asked to try anything, but one of the other marshals asked "why are you smoking your pen?". That was pretty funny really. I did end up explaining vaping to a few people though.

LOL yes I imagined that, the Kgo looks so much like a pen I'm using :p

Would you let a stranger take a sip of your drink?

I've only had girls ask me for a sip so I didn't mind it too much

That's really great to hear! E-cigs are virtually unknown of in my city and those that know of them know the cheap analog-like ones they sell in tobacco shops. Would be great if I could help start a trend :)

Lol I did vape in a couple pubs here with my original 808,s and had a waitress or two question me. They never asked me to stop though.
Now I use a 4 aa nimh homemade puck with a genesis clone ss atty. I imagine that would get a few looks. I haven't really used it in public much yet except driving in my car. As far as sharing your vape, they do make silicone friend tips which cover your drip tip. Just slip it over your tip and walah. I got a free one from one of the site i ordered juice from not sure which tho.

Since I use an e-pipe that looks just like a tobaco pipe (even up close), and since Sweedes tend to not aproach people they don't allready know, the most comon reaction I get goes something like this...

I vape away, minding my own buisnes, never in no smoking areas (with the brake room at work being the only exeption), usually just outside, but in public and full view. Someone (usually people with small children) will give me this reproachfull look, as if to ask how I dare smoke near them. (never mind that my "smoke" smells like vanilla). The look on their faces when I take one last puff, emidietly pocket my pipe (which they belive to be still "burning") and nod and smile in their direction is priceless.
