Because there's so many things! But I'm not sure what will actually get my point across. You can obviously tell "Ryan" got a gimmicky "Trio 51" style e-cig, and that his brother Googled "How bad are e-cigs" really quick and copy and pasted. So how do I get through to these uniformed people in just a few short sentences?

Edit: Sorry! I meant to post this in the General E-cig forum. I had two tabs open and created the new topic on the wrong one after I copied the photo. If someone can please move it that'd be awesome. :)

Well, first I'd ask where he got that info (I'd be curious to know what 'commonly imported tobacco liquid' that was).

Then I'd go ahead and list the ingredients of what is in your e-liquid, or maybe find a good article in support of E-cigs and link to that.

Honestly, I wouldn't turn it into a big thing though - the guy has his own thread going on quitting... last thing he probably wants is some back and forth debate on e-cigs. He's looking for support more than anything.

Just my 2 cents.

Here's what I have so far. I know I'm a little crappy with them in it, but it's because I know how these two are. And they are totally closed minded.

You might not have tried a "good" e-cig Ryan. There's tons of crap ones, and a few good ones. The only real way to find out which ones are good is to find a forum on them and read up.

Second, all those ingredients, may be in certain liquids. But not all of them at once, lol. And even if, just because it has a funny name, or is labeled a chemical, doesn't mean it's bad for you. I mean, s***, waters technically a chemical.. No one buys liquids from China either. There are plenty of trustworthy US vendors that make quality liquids.

And for Chantix, well, I'll just google that like you did with "what is bad about e-cigs" and paste it:

All patients being treated with CHANTIX should be observed for neuropsychiatric symptoms including changes in behavior, hostility, agitation, depressed mood, and suicide-related events, including ideation, behavior, and attempted suicide. These symptoms, as well as worsening of pre-existing psychiatric illness and completed suicide have been reported in some patients attempting to quit smoking while taking CHANTIX in the post-marketing experience. When symptoms were reported, most were during CHANTIX treatment, but some were following discontinuation of CHANTIX therapy.

These events have occurred in patients with and without pre-existing psychiatric disease. Patients with serious psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder did not participate in the pre-marketing studies of CHANTIX and the safety and efficacy of CHANTIX in such patients has not been established.

The was a study done recently that proves that with some people, you can give them facts and statistics about something, and they will still not believe it.

Come to think of it, Im wondering who did that study. I could have told them that some people are just stupid, or hard headed, and saved them some money.

Anyway. Its always nice to make a suggestion. But dont get bent out of shape or force the issue if someone disagrees. Their loss..

So in the end (I don't feel like copying and pasting it) I posted up exactly what I posted here. We had a short discussion about it, no one was being crappy about it really. Except Brain, who Ryan (his bro) basically told him to stop arguing about something he knows nothing about. And Ryan said he's just all about trying to quit smoking cold turkey. Which I root him on for, but think after 14 years of smoking and no real medical scares, I just don't see him making it too far.

Ask him if he would be willing to sign a petition demanding the banning of dihydroxymonoxide. It is in our lakes and streams, and now it's in our sweat and urine and tears. It really HAS to be stopped.

If he agrees send him here: Artificial Stupidity - Thomas Sowell - National Review Online

then you get to quite RED FOREMAN from "That 70's Show": "Dumbass"

Brings to mind the old saying: "Don't believe everything you read..." Add to that, "Especially on the internet"....Also, "Knowledge is the Key to Freedom",,,,just be
carefull where you obtain your "Knowledge"....Finally, I was a history major a few years
ago....and a Professor once stated that "History, changes every time a "New" History Book comes out...
Enjoy,
