Ok so the last time I read up on atomizers and batteries and such was like almost a year ago. Since then, i've been vaping on my PureSmoker5v passthru, with BE112 atomizers, and it's still going strong, but I feel like I don't taste any flavor from it. I dunno if it's me, or if my hardware is too old. So my questions:

1.) What are the recent advancements in atomizers? I'd like to still keep my passthru since it's so easy to use and I only vape when i'm at my computer anyways, so are there any big improvements in the 801/be112 style atomizers?

2.) Would it be worth it to buy new batteries/atomizers? Have there been any large improvements that warrant spending money on new hardware? Keep in mind I don't care about portability or looks at all, since I only vape at home in front of the computer, I only care about the performance.

That's it for now, i'd appreciate any information :D

Really, if you're satisfied with where you are, there's no need to change and in the last year a plethora of new things have shown up. A lot of them have gone through several revisions and some have people hunting for an eariler version. You might give dual coil cartos a try, if you like cartos. I don't but, at least they will probably be around a while. The latest atomizer that seems to be getting a lot of attention is the HH.357. Pretty pricey though. I haven't tried one yet and it's likely to be a while.

The other thing that seems to have taken hold are tanks. You take a cartomizer and poke a hole or two about a quarter inch above it's base. Then you take clear cylinder that seals around the cartomizer and fill the cylinder with juice. It feeds through the holes and keeps the cartomizer wet. If you like cartomizers, it's probably the most convenient way to vape but, I don't like cartomizers.

Everything new is 510 and VV is becoming a lot more mainstream. I haven't seen anything in the 801/be112 slot in some time. I use 901s and there's not a lot going on there either.

A cartomizer is a disposable cartridge with an atomizer built-in. Almost all cartomizer users are using a carto-tank these days. More capacity & prolong life of the cartomizer. With your 5v passthrough and your dripping experience, i think you'll better buy some premium atomizers instead using cartos. There are some well-known atties for drippers, i.e: HH357 Cisco, IO6 from Ikenvape, etc.
