What side effects, if at all, have you experience from vaping?

I am currently week 5 of just vaping, week 3 with the subox mini and week 2 of .5 ohm with 70/30 vg/pg 6 mg juice. Horrifically dry throat and nose although that is a new thing, about3 days I am undecided if it's the cold I am pretty sure I have or vaping that's causing it. I am praying it's not the vaping. I am not going back to the smokes and won't be quitting vaping. The body will have to adjust instead.

Vaping wouldn't help a cold. The PG is drying. In my experience the 70/30 blend clears my mucus out more, perhaps due to the fact that PG is in asthma inhalers and nasal antihistamine sprays.

I get the runny nose, too. Also, occasionally, a coating on the roof of my mouth.
Then today, for some reason, my vape started tasting like coconut.

A lot of people who are using vaping as a smoking cessation tool will be coughing up lots of junk for a few weeks afterwards, as your lungs start to be able to clean themselves out again. I had quit (patch) 4 1/2 years before I started vaping, so I went through that years ago. But after I switched to max VG, I seemed to go through something very similar. I think that maybe VG helps loosen the phlegm or something.

I also try to keep my vapor cool, and I don't get dried out much from vaping.

VG makes my lungs feel like I just quit smoking coughing up crap all the time. I think that it's not loosening phlegm but creating it, I've seen it called swamp lung/chest.
It only lasted about a week. It's been a couple of months now, and my lungs feel clearer than I can ever remember. Nice feeling when you live at 5000'.

It seems like people have many different experiences with this.

Very true, high VG for me is worse than smoking I would have to strap an inhaler to my face to keep vaping. Other people cringe when they find out I only subohm high PG.

I second a lot of the previous posts: my gums are more sensitive, have started bleeding, and hurt more after I brush and floss. But I will not go back. It beats all of the downsides of smoking. I am not sure I have saved any money yet as I have not yet figured out how to get my rba to work reliably so I am still using the vertical OCC coils (disposables). Replacing those every few days (depending on what juice I am using) has cost me a bit. I haven't succumbed to shinyitis yet but I do find myself looking daily for new gear. Overall I am very glad my wife and I made the switch.

First came the flavor addiction. I had to have them all! Then came the dry mouth compounded by meds that give dry mouth (it's just a sensation, cuz my mouth is actually drooly) so my life is water-vape-vape-water-water-vape. Now I get runny nose when I chain vape but only sometimes so I'm thinking it might be a particular liquid that's doing it. Everything else has been golden.

Subohming high PG would make me cough until my face dropped off. That could even be a reason why we react differently. You're using high power producing a warm/hot vapor, while I vape at low power, producing a cool vapor.

As long as we're vaping. :D

I think a lot has to do with my asthma as well, but I agree it might not be so bad in my Nautilus setup. I am just hopelessly stuck on Reo's at the moment.

I just developed a serious case of burned lip syndrome. apparently if you aren't paying attention and pull the top off a dripper, and then forget to put it back on before firing and touching your lip to a coil, you hear a loud sizzle and a slight smell of vaporized skin. side effects include having to lie to your girlfriend, itchy lip, people questioning whether you have herpes, battered dignity.

Hi Tami--it sounds to me like you may have a problem not related to vaping. It sounds a lot like you are developing some sort of upper respiratory infection. You should see a doctor to be sure, I think.
Meh. I go to the doctor for serious problems. I'll wait and see.

I love the smell of vaporized skin in the morning. As long as it isn't mine. ;)
Hope it heals quickly.

Crazy my gums were hurting a while back and I thought it might be from my liquids. I was afraid I wouldnt be able to vape anymore but I guess I just needed to drink more water lol guess I did because they have not bothered me in a while. I normally drink a ton but some days I just forget to.
