About a week and a half after I started vaping I had terrible stomach cramps for 2-3 days. Finally went away.

Unfortunately, I've had stomach issues prior to quitting smoking. About 3 years ago I became very sensitive to raw onions and other acidic foods. Cooked onions were okay, but raw would give me pains like I had the stomach flu. I'm not sure if smoking cigarettes contributed to that.

I still have the uneasy stomach moments, but my chest pains and heartburn have been reduced I believe.

The effects you're experiencing (except maybe the canker sores) are most likely side effects from quitting smoking cigarettes rather than from vaping itself. Yes, it's all normal and you would have experienced them even if you hadn't started vaping. It's your body ridding itself of the toxins you built up from smoking the stinkies.

Please, prove it.

The only side effect I have experienced is a sore tip of the tongue, note: not sores on the tongue, but a sore feeling on the tongue, but I only get it when I use my kayfun a bunch. The airy draw of the aerotanks and RDAs don't cause it. I think it has to do with the way I have to vape the kayfun because of the tight draw.

I don't know about those canker sore comments. Haha.

Canker sores are caused by a virus that is part of the herpes family. They occur when someone who has the virus bites the inner parts of their mouth continuously, not allowing it to heal and the virus takes over. Other things such as toothpaste can also irritate the inflamed tissues causing the virus to manifest in that location.

so, I had a thread about cold sores, etc I was getting, last weekend.

Ive gotten out breaks since I was a kid, although had been out break free for a year or two.. until recently. I started vaping and quit smokes almost 3 months ago now.

One tip I have found, is I eliminated all metal drip tips. I only use delrin / plastic drip tips now, and that seems to be helping. more water. and also, Im going down in nic levels. initially to fight the desire to smoke I was on 24..then 18, now mostly 6, and a 12 or two juice still. but I am very sensitive to caffeine etc.. and I was making myself uncomfortable with nic buzz.. I dont enjoy it.

You might find glass and/or ceramic tips are also a lot easier on the mouth than metal. I've found I don't mind metal too much a) if it's warm weather, so they're not freezing cold, and b) if they don't have that "burnt metal" taste. Not sure why some do have that taste, and some don't, but it's horrible. But I still like non-metal ones better; at first I preferred plastic, but I'm finding I really like the smoothness of glass and ceramic. Also, stainless is actually better than aluminum; aluminum heats up really fast, and thus has a lot more potential to burn the lips.

I've also discovered that I *can* vape 12mg for short periods, like tasting at a tasting bar, or first thing in the morning, but I can't vape that high for any length of time or I get those really bad nic-OD symptoms; the stomach pain, even nausea, so I generally keep to about 9-10 mg, to avoid those bad side effects. Since the novelty has somewhat worn off, I don't chain vape too much anymore, but there are times when I do, and I hate feeling sick just from vaping a little too often -- this is supposed to be pleasant, not nauseating! :D

The number one side effects are dry mouth from the PG/VG and throat irritation. Both are eased with more water. Stay hydrated. Lots of people report acne and that's obviously a side effect of quitting smoking, also. Your body begins to purge itself of the toxins from cigarettes. The cilia in your lungs start to bring up all sorts of rank stuff (they were paralyzed by the smoke and chemicals when you smoked).

I was going to this exact logic...plus the hydration is really key as Dave is saying.

I don't know about you guys but for me, quitting smoking is worth the irritable bowel syndrome and uncontrollable ........ caused by vaping. A new batch of Depends Adult Undergarments, a full RBA and a mech with a fresh battery and I'm ready to hit the town! And you have to admit, the dry skin in the "nether" regions caused by dehydration just gives you more reasons to "moisturize" more often. Grandma keeps telling me I'm going to hell. I tell her I'm keeping the lotion companies stocks up.

Actually. digestive disorder (both ways) is caused by quitting smoking (with or without vaping) as I can attest from my cold turkey attempts...And you are 100% right! anything you go through while quitting smoking is worth it 1000 times over in the long run. :)

Interesting... I've only quit smoking tobacco for about 6 or 7 weeks now and been vaping that long but I've not seen any "side effects" of any kind. No acne, no canker sores, no medical conditions at all other than my health feels as if it's actually improved. My wife and I walked up the street to the landlords house yesterday (which is uphill about 1000 or 1500 feet from our home) and I got there without even breaking a sweat and was not huffing and puffing like I would most certainly have been if I'd still been smoking 1 to 4 packs of tobacco cigarettes a day like I used to.

Other than the benefits of feeling better, breathing better etc I've not seen any negative side effects at all from vaping. Personally if somebody is experiencing negative side effects like acne or cold sores etc, I'd suggest to examine other things you are doing in your life as possible causes (such as the quitting of tobacco products) before I'd blame it on vaping.

I've not noticed a need to intake more fluids when vaping but I've certainly read plenty of people that have felt the need to do so, perhaps the OP needs to take in more water to flush out the toxins from the tobacco or something else their ingesting..

Right there with you Traijan. My job is manual labor moving thousands of cases in a warehouse per day. My energy went up substantially. My production increased and my feel of wear decreased. On I side note I read cigarettes decrease your sensitivity to caffeine. Not sure if this is true, but I feel energy drinks/coffee/etc help more now than before.

Well, haha, they are caused by the herpes simplex virus and once you’ve gotten it it’s always present in your system. Can you please explain how people get canker sores in the bottom of the grove between the gum and lip when it’s impossible to bite that area? Three people with this problem have posted about their experiences with these sores yet you seem to think we’re all wrong. What gives with that? You're saying toothpaste can cause a sore but not eliquid? Makes no sense at all.

I know those small bumps too well. I had these for about 4 months. I also had really bad cystic acne too. I stuck it out and now I get one or two zits here and there. However once a month I get a flare up only around that women's time of the month. Being female and walking around with this much acne was hell. Also the answer to your question ,yes quitting without an ecig can cause acne too, just google and you will see others talking about it. Now that my face is coming back to normal , I must say that the haze that smokers have on their face is gone and I have been told I look younger.

I do have water retention I believe as my ankles and hands swell. I just need to up my water I guess. I can't think of any other side effects. I have many positives from making the switch though :)

hughdahand makes a good point about the juice might be spitting up.

As I was reading your post , to me is sounds like you are leaning towards smoking or maybe just having a real " craving" moment. Hang in there ,it does get better and cravings slow down to near none.
