Ok so I originally bought an Aspire BDC and it was ok day one. Started gurgling and not really working right. By middle of day two U am back on here looking for a better tank. The Kanger PT3 had great reviews so I grabbed one. At first it was so much better than the BDC. Went a week with both swapped heads on both and both were just OK. BACK IN ECF I find the Aspire Nautilus gets rave reviews. First 5 hours it was awesome produced more vapor than either one of my first two. Last 30 mins my Nautilus is flooding like mad. ...? Help.

Bottom coil tanks have holes in the bottom for liquid to flow downward. Leaking is therefore more likely than with top coil.
Top coil tanks have wicks that the liquid has to soak to rise upwards to get to the coil; dry hits are therefore more likely than with bottom coil.

Sucking hard on a bottom coil tends to draw liquid from the tank, into the center tube, flooding the coil.

You can hold your mouthpiece to you ear and fire the power and hear the sound of the atomizer; if the coil is flooded, you will hear a low sound,
- then turning the tank upside down, after a few seconds, the sound will become more nomal sizzling as liquid drains away from the coil towards the mouthpiece.

Priming the coil means getting the coil wet/moist enough to vape.

If the coil is dry, on a bottom coil, you can prime the coil with primer puffs, which means sucking on the mouthpiece without pressing the fire button; sucking on the mouthpiece draws liquid towards the coil;
(they way I do it if I have to is to block the airholes with my fingures and suck on the mouthpiece; sometimes you will actually see a bubble in the tank right afterwards corresponding to the liquid moving out the tank and being replaced afterwards by an air bubble).
Another way to prime a dry coil is just leave it to sit for a while for the wicks to get wet; an hour will surely be enough, but probably 5 minutes will do depending on wick.

a tight draw is more likely to flood a bottom coil than an airy draw; I drilld out the airholes on my miniprotank bases 1/16inch (1/8 ? real big) - clearly much bigger than necessary; there's enough tightness for me in the center pin hole

Crazy frustrated right now. I hate the taste of analogs now and can't seem to find a vape setup that works every time the same.

Know what you mean; it's like learning to ride a bike; after a while you figure it out.

To drive a car you have to get a cartotank; but like a car, where you still have to get the thing started first, with cartos you have to know how to prime them first; again once you get the hang of it, it's just routine.

If you have time stop by the REO Mods Forum and see if you think it is something you would be interested in. When I started vaping I spent several month frustrated most of the time. Some days were good and some it was always an issue. I finally found a mod that would give me a hassle free satisfying vape every day all day long. No Leaks, no flooding, coil/wick are a month old (ceramic wick).

If you are not into build coils and battery management on an unregulated device then it may not be your cup of tea. There are extremely friendly and helpful people that will answer your questions.

Good luck

Tom, I have a suggestion for you. I see so many posts about this tank and that tank. Usually they are kind of expensive, and everyone seems to get on the bandwagon and talk about them.

These tanks are not talked about much, don't cost very much, but one thing they do is, they work well. They were sold to me with my first ego starter kit. I used them with the starter kit. I then used them when I upgraded to Vision Spinners, and now I'm using them on my MVP 2. They don't leak, gurgle or flood. The coils are inexpensive, so you can change them when needed. They are glass, so you don't have to worry about cracked tanks with different juice.

If you want reliable, fuss free tanks, I highly recommend these tanks. I just recently ordered 4 more of them, so I can have them filled with different juice to rotate during the day. Here is a link:

Dont worry, youll get the hang of it soon. And you will eventually step into rebuildables. Just get the experience and enjoy the ride mate!

Man I hope so cause suffering the taste of an analog sounds pretty damn good right now.

I just read an e-cig new user thread on here that pretty much confirmed it's me. I think I keep slipping into the habitual draw strength of an analog. Which causes flooding. The learning curve seems to be the hardest part of switching from real cig to nic juice.
