What variable volt mod is there that also tell you the ohms?

I bought the Provari and liked it so much, I bought a second one as a backup. It costs about fifty bucks less than the Darwin, and checks all your attys' and cartos' resistance, which is surprisingly important. Higher resistance needs higher voltage. The appropriate voltage setting makes ALL of my cartos and attys give a consistently satisfying vape.

$50 less after the batteries, charger, 2 year warranty and extension to make things equal?

I'm not touting one over the other, that's a personal choice but the Darwin comes ready to use with no extra cost.

Getting the Provari there will make the price basically the same between them and the Darwin reads everything the op is asking about.

I use a Buzz that only cost me $100.00. I bought a pocket volt meter that I check the resistance of my cartos with for $9.00.
These things do everything a ProVari does. Just sayin'...

Correct they do and the buzz is a great device, .... the provari's features are worth the convienience of not having
To have a tool to function.

The buzz performs great with the same en result, a great vape. I normally just set it once and enjoy it.
The provari I like messin around with little hotter, little cooler ,check batt status, check my attie ohms and repeat.
It realy is great to be able to do that at any time. Even if its not a neccesity to enjoy. Just makes life easier and me happy!

Thanks, because I also do like the Darwin.

I'm ready to try a couple mods. I've really been trying to follow and understand resistance/ohms and voltage. Am I understanding correctly to say that the higher the voltage, the higher the resistance for a cartomizer? And something like the provari will tell you what type of resistance/ohm cartomizer to use? Thanks to anyone who can help me wrap my head around this. I'm dieing to try a couple mods. I currently use an ego, (drip and cartomizers) and just got a vgo 801 that I'n not impressed with. Thank you, Cathy

Catherine -
You check the resistance of the atomizer or cartomizer you have screwed on, and that tells you approximately the voltage you need for a good vape with that atty/carto. Resistance varies in my attys and cartos between 2.2 and 3.2. These are all (maybe 70 total) 510s which are not sold as "low res" but as regular attys/cartos. A 2.2 ohm carto likes about 3.5 or 3.7 volts to suit my taste, and a 3.2 ohm carto is best at around 4.4 volts. I subtract a tenth or two for fruit flavors and dessert vapes, and add a couple tenths to whatever I'm vaping when I just want more throat hit.

By the way, I just changed battery in my Provari. It took one minute. If I had the Darwin, I'd have to plug it in, and if I wanted to keep using it as a passthrough in the mean time, I'd be tethered to the computer usb port. No, thanks!

Undertheradar....Oh my gosh...thank you so much for helping me to understand. I so appreciate it. I am also extremely frustrated with contacting some of these suppliers. I can only initiate contact via email. I'll ask a question....and have to wait for a response. Which then leads to another question....and then I have to go to work....it takes days....what ever happened to the flippin telephone? really frustrating.

I asked a similar question yesterday, I believe if you look at my banner, nuff said, ran me $250.00. but to never be tethered and to be able to change the mhA on the fly is worth it to me because I hike alot, and I cant always charge so being able to have 10 batts is like having a carton of cigaretts, as long as I don't forget my juice lol....

The Darwin not only tells you the ohms, but also the volts and the watts. And unlike any other variable volt PV, it senses the resistence of the atty/carto as it changes with use and then automatically adjusts the power level to maintain your original settings. Oh, and it's also a pass-through and has the longest warranty (2 yrs) of any PV on the market.

Humm, since the Darwin will go 48 hours on a charge and you can plug it in when you go to bed each night (you do sleep, right), I don't really get your point other than you just like knocking a product you don't have.
