I use a Buzz that only cost me $100.00. I bought a pocket volt meter that I check the resistance of my cartos with for $9.00.
These things do everything a ProVari does. Just sayin'...

Nothing remotely close about the two, Buzz is old tech screwdriver adjust with stacked bats....

48 hours on a charge is user dependent there are darwin owners reporting 13 hours. I am guess from its dimensions vs batteries of that size its somewhere between 13-1700 mah? I am sure the passthrough function helps offset the fact that you can't just pop in a fresh battery though.

I believe it is 1800 mAh. And 48 hours is on the top end, obviously. But who needs more than 13 hours? If you charge it every night, no one should have a problem with battery life with the Darwin.

There are some who report getting less than 10 hours out of an 18650 I can only imagine they would get even less than that with a darwin. Of course that is well beyond the norm. I can't imagine how much vaping that is, but its a bit much to say that 1800 mah will last two days. I think for me it would last all day with what I vape...but then with what I vape I don't need a vv.

That is about to change , not the stacked batts ( because if they were a problem then flashlights would not use them right ? ) but the old technology , our new TECH will increase the battery life by at least 2 x and is actually MORE efficient than a boost regulator design.

I know some people like to hack threads because they have their new toy but is it really necessarily ???

Beside the Buzz is 1/2 the price so ?? oh and BTW the BUZZ was the FIRST commercially available Variable voltage mod FYI

Sorry I dont mean to be a hater or an ... about this but after a while it gets OLD ! sometimes you have to defend your products and the fact that all others are variations on the original design.

This should cause a .... storm LOL ~!

To be clear the Buzz does NOT measure ohms

Order the Provari now so you can get on the waiting list. Then you can save up 75 bucks every week for 3 weeks and you will have enough. They only charge you when they ship it so it's perfect. You could also order a Darwin sometime this week when they are in stock. Buy both, only way around it.

Or buy a buzz, infinity, big brother or little sister for a lot cheaper.

like i said in my first post, unless you want to volunteer to place an electrical outlet in every tree; without destroying nature or killing , damaging anything, I DO....i spend sometimes three four days away from electricity..i hike walk adventure alot sometimes for weeks..lets not make this a fan boy artical.......the Darwin and the provari are exactly the same in method except for two things......Well three...first is size...if you like small sleek sexy....get the Darwin ......provari is much larger due to the second reason they are different, you can change the batt in a provari and charge it sepratly...so the life of your pv is determined by how many batts you can carry and charge at once..now the third ....weight ......the provari is as heavy as a couple rolls of quarters.....not quite but close.....with the batts in of course.....other than that oh oh oh sorry ........the warranty ...........for an extra 20 dollars you can get a 2 year warranty on the provari .......comes with one year.....The Darwin comes with two years without the extra charge...........

Finally got to try a Darwin at Philly Vapefest as several people had one. I will say that the photos of the unit do not do it justice. It is all metal and has some nice heft to it (probably only slightly lighter than a Provari) and by all appearances is a well-made device indeed. For 99% of would-be buyers, the lack of an easily removable battery would be a non-issue, just another device (like your cellphone) that you will have to remember to periodically charge either in a wall outlet or your car. Yes, you will want to have some sort of back-up device just in case but you will always want to have a back-up device for anything you rely on.

One small knock on the Darwin is if you have a drip shield on your atomizer, the gap between the swiveling arm and the body of the device is not enough to allow the atomizer to fold back in line with the device all the way, but that's a pretty small nitpick.

Very few, if any vape more constantly or heavily than I do. My first test on how long I could go on one charge with the Darwin resulted in 21 hours. I can see why now, those who are average vapers are getting 30+ hours on a charge. If someone needs more than that on one charge, then they are .00001% of all who vape.

If I was going to buy another VV mod it would be the Darwin because of the automatic setting of the watts. It is also much easier to check the ohms-volts-amps with it. The Provari is nice too and it is easy to replace the batteries but you have to click it a lot of times to get your readings. The auto watt adjustment is the important feature being as it changes automatically as the atty resistance or battery voltage changes hence the same hit everytime. The main negative on the Darwin is the battery is like a cell phone batt and it is recommended that you send it back to be changed. The battery lasts from one to three years though and just like your cell phone you will probably want to up grade it to the new version by then. You know the one that is also a cell phone with video and camera. The Buzz which I have sets on the shelf with a broken wire and it was a big pain to change the voltage for an old codger like me that shakes and can't see. You need a screwdriver, a voltmeter and be able to hit a small slot in a dark hole to change its setting. As it is I will stick with my Go-Go that is working great!
