Heylo friends,
I know there are a lot of threads about silly experiences at B&M's, I would have created a new thread if this wasn't especially silly.
So, today I went to a new local B&M and had quite an experience. I was in there testing all their house juices because they're sold throughout the state of Colorado and are apparently pretty good. They were but I was appalled by what I saw going on behind the counter. First of all, there were three people who were working and two of their friends, and I overheard a comment, 'I've really been enjoying this 0.06Ω build man, thanks.' You can imagine I did a double take. One of the employees walked over and asked me if I needed help, I told him I was just browsing but asked him what his build registered at... 0.04Ω. It turns out that everyone there was below 0.07Ω. EVERYONE. No, I am not mistyping, below 0.07Ω.
There were five people pushing their batteries way beyond their capabilities. They were all using Gplatt, which I already hated, but now I hate it even more. One of the employees was literally using a towel to vape, just like on that De Jay video where he vents the battery at the end.
The worst part? My 0.24Ω kanthal build kicked their horrifying gplatt builds ..... in vapor production.
I became fearful for my life and began planning my escape (without having to buy anything) and in walks another customer. When they asked him how they could help him, he responded 'I'm looking to upgrade to a mech and rebuildable and was hoping you could show me how to do it.' Oh boy, here we go. I managed to fight off the urge to save my life for a little bit and dropped a few subtle comments to the soon-to-be mech vaper. Well I guess they weren't so subtle... Comments such as, 'I hope you have an ohm reader or multimeter' or 'The batteries you're going to buy have a 30A rating (they surprisingly had some VTC4's' and 'Please don't let them build for you, I would be happy to teach you.'
I tried to be as secretive as possible, but one of the employee's heard the comments and said let the man decide for himself. He went on to buy the mech and gplatt (the only wire they sold) in 22 gauge and thats when I left.
The thing is, I don't know if it was my place to tell him those things. If I see something thats not right and being passed on to someone new, I just have to say something.
What would you guys have done?
Thanks for reading and responding...
