The Kayfun is about as easy as it gets in terms of a rebuildable tank, but that doesn't necessarily equate to "easy for a first time coiler"

If you're interested in learning to build your own coils and wicking them, I'd always suggest a simple dripper first, such as the IGO-L or IGO-W.

With a dripper you don't risk the possibility of losing a tank full of e-liquid when things don't go as planned.

Honestly, I would start with rebuilding EVOD, ARO, Protank type heads. They are extremely easy to rebuild, and there are dozens of guides and videos here and on Youtube.

I actually have an Evod (well, it's a L-Rider MT3, but it can use evod heads), but I never consider that as a possibility. I watched a youtube video of rebuilding the head but it still looks like a lot of work. But I'll take your advice.

The suggestion of trying a dripper sounds like a possibility, though so far I've mostly avoiding dripping because I've been happy with cartomizers and clearomizers and don't have a need for bigger clouds or flavor. I've seen a Smoktech rebuildable that looks like something I might try.

I'm looking for a small (2ml), lightweight, easily rebuildable tank as I might want to try making my own coils. Does anything like this exist?

I'm thinking an RDA, which means no tank? Perfect for experimenting with rebuilding coils. Simple, lightweight, small, cheap, no glass, no plastic, nothing much to go wrong.

The Taifun GS seems to be about 3ml; polycarbonate tank though.

Rebuilding the heads really is no harder than building any other coil. I did a small pictorial here:

Also on the first page of that thread I posted some tips for working with cotton yarn wick.
