What's the difference between a Mech mod & a Hybrid Mech mod?

Could be referring to a 510 connection that just a hole, so that the atomizer's positive post sticks through and touches the positive pole of your battery. The 4nine mod is like this, among others.

Depending on context, could be referring to something else. What mod specifically are you looking at?

A hybrid gives your atty a connection straight to your battery instead of having a pin like on a normal mech mod the 510 connection is your pin so less voltage drop and a harder hit.

yep, like others have stated, a hybrid is a mod that has its own attomizer that screws directly to the battery tube resulting in less voltage drop. Personnaly I like hybrids the best if they are well built. They hit like a freight train!

Hybrids can be dangerous though. You have to make sure your atti has a pin that is extended past the threads or its a dead short.

There are 2 different meanings for hybrid mechanical:

1: A mechanical mod without 510-connector but has got a built in RDA/RBA/RTA/RDTA/some rebuildable

2. A normal mechanical but without a 'proper' topcap, meaning there is no adjustable 510 pin in the topcap, but it's just a threaded metal disc with 510 threads and the attys 510 positive post contacts the battery straight, which allows for a lower voltage drop and smaller mods

^^^What they said. Note that many hybrid connections, while this is not a standard like I'd consider the 510 connection, use 20 x 1 threading. So many hybrid mechs and atomizers can be interchanged. It's been noted that 510 connection is pretty dinky considering the size and weight we use it at sometimes, I believe that was really meant for smaller cigalikes but a standard was born so...
