That's a bummer patro_n

It was at the time. But because of that I now own a provari and reo. So it was good for me. But I bought that dawn thing at a brick and mortar. The "kit" was a hundred bucks. A version 1 lavatube when the 2 was already out lol

OK... There has to be someone who has had one live beyond a year.

in the post just above this I said my zmax had at least a 1 year service life, and still works even though its retired. I'm probably going to epoxy the top cap down and give it to my grandfather

I cannot believe there is a 5 year old ego battery still running! I do believe it but I can't believe it LOL. I had an ego twist and it broke after a month. In all fairness I will say that it was the 1000 mah battery and I had it in my pocket. The whole top just popped out and I never could get it to work again. I have always loved the ego twists and the other ones like that but 25 bucks is a lot for me if I break it and I am really hard on my gear. I always think about getting a pair of the 650 mah twists but I can get other vape stuff for that price that I know won't break and I always talk myself out of it. :(

I was thinking about buying my son the MVP but I have seen some threads where they died after a short time. It's a good thing I can't make up my mind. It saves me some money:D

The MVP 2.0 is a great PV. Mine has seen around 5 months of heavy use (enough daily vaping where a full charge only lasts 3/4 of the day).

And most of the older original MVP's out there are still going strong.

You will always hear a few stories of any device breaking, regardless of how well it was built. Companies with the highest levels of QA control still put out a lemon every now and then. Generally, you only hear of MVP's breaking on forums such as these. It is very rare for someone to post a new thread saying "My MVP is 18 months old and still running great!". People post a thread when they get a new device, then over the next few months, they might post some threads with questions or suggestions about the device. Then you won't hear a thing about it until it dies.

So don't think that a few reports of a certain device breaking means that it is an inferior product. For every MVP that dies after a relatively short time, I'm sure that many hundreds of others continue to work well.

I dropped my lavatube a month after purchase. Destroyed it. Top cap came off. Wires broke off. The brass ring that grounds the board to the tube broke off the board. I am sure it would still function if I threw it into a box mod. But yah didn't last lomg

I don't know what's covered by some suppliers offer a 1 year warranty on Lavatubes.

My V1 MVP is almost a year old now...been dropped countless times on gravel, tile, and concrete. Very solid.

So is mine.

Edit: Mine is over a year old- got it last October I think. I did have to fix the cord, but works great

Plus one from me re: the ego twist - same timeline. Like you, it's not looking its cosmetic best lol, but what the heck, it adds character. Am using it right now as I write this in fact!

Well I don't know if you care about these, but my ego twists were purchased in early 2012 & are still holding a charge just as they should & working as well as when I bought them. I will say the black one has paint issues, but other than that they perform just as they always have. Up until recently these were my all day every day all the time vapes so they've gotten a lot of use.
