1st off let me say I have nothing against any cheaply priced mods. I think everything has it's place in our lovely world. I am just wondering with everyday use how long has someone been using something like a vamo, evic, zmax, mvp or a lava tube? I may have forgot some others. This is for every day use. How long has your economy priced mod lasted you? No mechs please. And I don't want this to be a Provari thread. I am just wondering if we can map out a life span. I think problems are more likely to be posted so some people probably have pretty good luck with some of these units. So for mods say 100 bucks and under how long have you been using it?

An electronic device without you breaking it... Isn't it kinda pointless to gauge the longevity of any given electronic device... or specifically a regulated e-cigarette battery unit... when most of the whole product line spectrum hasn't been around for much more than a year or two... maybe three? In my mind a great one will last 5-10 years!!

If it doesn't last a year... it's crap... or shall I say it should be marketed as disposable. Come on... you'd expect a coffee maker, electric toothbrush, toaster, blow-dryer, or waffle iron to last a year or more. You pay about the same for those as most regulated mods...

I have been vaping for quite awhile Zahzoo. There wasn't even a Vamo yet when I started. Now that some of these devices have been around for a bit I just wanted to see how they are fairing. The ego was brand new when I started vaping. When I came on the vape scene was just about the time VV started being made affordably so anyone could get one. I am sure people don't expect a 40.00 mod to last them 10 years but I am curious as to how some of the lower cost ones have held up. Who knows. Maybe in 5 years we will revisit this and some will still be running. Who knows.

Define 'breaking it'. I have a Lavatube from mid 2012. It served me well for 5 or 6 months and then the 510 threads got sloppy so I put in a 510 - 510 adapter. Then I dropped it and the top cap came of so I glued it back on. Then the 510 connector came loose from simple wear and tear. Of course I had dropped it a few times, but who never drops their mod? I glued that back on and it's still a backup for me today that works just fine though it looks like it's gone through a war.

Got about 9 months of pretty steady use from it all told and I bet I could have gotten another few months anyway making it at least a year if I had not retired it. Or would you consider its useful life ended after one of the issues that came up along the way? If so, which issue?

I started vaping just after you did by ECF join dates Dana. I suspect most of the low to mid range regulated devices are lucky to last a year of steady use. I still have a pristine 650 eGo Twist I bought when they first came out that I sometimes use for a small out and about device, but it never saw much use after a few months of steady service.

Well I don't know if you care about these, but my ego twists were purchased in early 2012 & are still holding a charge just as they should & working as well as when I bought them. I will say the black one has paint issues, but other than that they perform just as they always have. Up until recently these were my all day every day all the time vapes so they've gotten a lot of use.

    No you can't
I had my VAMO V2 since Oct 2012 it's still alive though the tread problem hit me this month. I came up with a fix that will keep it alive so it's going 24 hours and OK. I change tanks 8-9 times a day or more. Even if the fix doesn't hold I can repeat it and in in two min I'll be back up and vaping with my VAMO.

Zahzoo, my electric perculator is 15 yrs old, electric toothbrush 12, toaster 18, blower-dryer 25, waffle iron was my grandmother's, refrig 22 yrs, washer/dryer 26 (still working but leaking so junked & dryer given to dau who still uses it), my vehicle is a 1997. Think it all depends on how well it's made and how well you take care of it or repair rather than replace. :)

Since I'm still realitively new to this wonderful vaping scene, don't know how long my lst ecig (MVP) will last. I do chain vape 'cause I'm home alot and not active hence no dropping.....yet. However, I do swap back and forth on an expensive mod that takes replacement batteries. I have heard I could use it as a "club" it I do go out into the "wilds". Won this one in a raffle at a vape meet.

When I bought the MVP, I knew (depending on amount of my useage) it could last anywhere from 6 mos. to a yr. before having to replace it. Also knew it could possibly be a "lemon". Having won the expensive one, I knew that with replacing the batteries that it would last a long, long time and I had a place to send it to right here in the good ol' USA for repair if something did go wrong. :D

I'm a contented vaper with either one. I do my happy dance every morning even before I perk my first pot of coffee:banana:! It's the only dancing I do any more.........Now if we could just find hip and knee replacement joints that last more than 10 yrs......
