That looks like what my siblings and I used to call "clicky beetles" you touch their back and they pop up in the air about 8 inches. Not jump, pop, you'll hear the snap.

well i'm not getting close enough to it to see if it "pops" of not!! LOL... it did seems to have wings though... it was trying to fly up but i don't think it could.... maybe it was just popping... hmmm.....

But is that actually a lady bug or one of those Asian beetles. (I think it's Asian) If it's the Asian? beetle they are nasty little buggers. I don't know if it's true or not but I was told by an exterminator that the lady bugs have been killed of by the Asian? beetle.

Yeah clicky beetles have wings. But, if it were trying to pop VS. fly, you would have heard a very loud distinct "CLICK!" or "pop" whichever word you choose lol.

I loved insects (NOT SPIDERS) when I was little, I used to have the "easy bake oven for boys" that made the little gelatin scorpions, snakes, tarantulas etc... bahaha

Ok this is sort of weird ... I looked up the asian ladybug (Harmonia axyridis) and here is the wikipedia link Harmonia axyridis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It appears that ugly black and yellow spiny bug previously mentioned in this thred is a larval stage of this beetle.
well i'm just glad that i saw that black and yellow one outside and not inside like the ladybug... b/c if i saw it inside i probably would've lost it!!!!!! LOL

congrats on the 15 posts... lol :)
