Good morning. Roth my wife calmed down quite a bit about the cello. We haven't actually bought it yet. It is out on a one week trial. If this ends up being the one she wants to keep then I'm going to try my best to make that happen for her.

I was thinking that we might have to send the dogs out to find Axl but then I remembered that she took the dogs with her. Too bad TV isn't around to send his snus eating dog out on search.

I'm back guys!! THank you for the well wishes. WE PASSED AAANNNNDDDD our scores qualified us for Nationals!!!!!!!!!!! Qualifying was not even a goal or consideration but it happened! Tracking was really hard for poor Titus. It was long grass, not his favorite, a track layer that obviously was laying harder tracks for teams not in their club, a freak lil storm went through and rained and blew on our track while it was aging AND our track aged almost two hours (it was supposed to be aged for no more than an hour. Titus had some problems but he worked it out great and we got 85 out of 100 on tracking (take THAT mean track layer man!!). The judge even commented on Titus's fantastic work ethic.

We got 95 out of 100 in obedience and 90 out of 100 in protection. I was happy to pass! Now I don't have to do that again.

My husband's dog failed tracking :( but did well in the other two phases. Hubby has asked me to start tracking his dog for him so she can learn to problem solve like Titus has been taught to. This will be a challenge because his dog tolerates me, but does not particularly like me. I want to help him though and I know it took alot out of his pride to ask me for help.

The kids were great, this is the first trial we have taken them to. It is nice to know that they are now 'portable'.

ANyway, I'm glad to be home with my newly Schutzhund 3 (and National level competitor) dog.

Hitt, that's too bad the cello costs so much. My mom ran into that with my violins too but she felt as you do and made sure I had good instruments to use, and I wasn't even talented!

Axl congrats on the great scores. You must be really excited. The cello thing is still undecided. My daughter is very money conscious and feels guilty for us to spend that much on her instrument. I'm taking a half day off tomorrow to go try a couple more. I also found out we can get ten percent off for paying cash rather than making payments. I believe the one we have checked out now is the right one but I don't know if my daughter will let us buy it. I don't want to have her feeling guilty over it. Not to mention it might spike her anxiety.

Great news Axl! A National dog, now you'll meet the really friendly competitors. FC, must be nice to be able to finally start getting something down.

We're looking for storms today and into the 90s again. I'm going to miss the nice springlike days.

Well, I solved a radio issue today. The battery on my S2000 died during the winter and I replaced it. However, that locked up the radio and I needed to code which I had 10 years ago saved on a PC that is long gone. I backed up all the info on a USB drive but over the years the power cord disappeared. The options were to pull the radio, get the serial number and wait in the hope that the dealer could get the code or find an AC cord. None on the shelf, but the external HD backup systems today use a similar cord, so $80 later I saved a lot of time finding out how to get the radio out and hoping. Plus I have a TB drive to back up our PCs on.

Good morning. FC that's great you are on your way back to solid food. How about nic?

Roth that's good news. Maybe you should write that code in the owners manual. It is good to have a back up hard drive. We outgrew our old one and I bought a TB drive a few months ago.I just leave it on all of the time and it automatically backs up once a day. I have one at work too but just do a back up about once a week and leave it in our fire safe. My boss is a little paranoid so it makes him feel good for me to keep it in the safe.

Hitt, I did just that some 8-9 years ago, I think. But darn if I could find it. I know there was a separate manual for the radio (skinny) and I may have written it in there and lost it over the years. I did put it in the actual owners manual this time so when they steal the radio they can steal the manual too and be good to go.

I'm pretty old school. I don't lock up much. I figure if someone's going to rob me, I'd just as soon not have to fix what they break getting in so I find radio theft protection more of an annoyance to the owner than the thief.

Roth I would have to agree with that for the most part. I do lock my car while at work but often find that theft deterrents are a pain in the ..... They only stop the thieves that are too lazy to make the extra effort. If someone wants something bad enough then they will figure out how to get it.

Roth, I think that I would have been tempted to just buy a new radio!! That is a whole lot of effort!

Yes, I imagine my days of friendly competition are now pretty much over. However, I get SOOOO nervous when competing that I doubt I will do it much anyway. There are tracking titles still to be had, and I think I will go that direction. Even though Titus was having a rough time, I wasn't nervous at all for that because I knew that I had prepared him. I've never qualified for anything in my life, so it was a pretty big accomplishment for me.

I forgot to bring my cooler with me to work today. My cooler that has my snus in it!!!!!! Luckily I always keep some stonewalls in the car but still...I couldn't get home fast enough!!

Yikes, no snus at work. That's like you forgot to breathe all day. I keep a pretty good stash at work, stuff in the car and at home. I am hard pressed to be anywhere without something.

We went to the other music store this afternoon and ruled out all of the ones they had there. They were willing to throw in a coda bow and a case for a pretty decent price but the cellos they had were either hard to play or just didn't sound as good as the one we have out on trial.

    Where's Gutter??

HItt, does it go 'bad' in your car when your car sits out in the hot sun? I thought about just keeping a can in there (thought alot about that today!) but wasn't sure what that kind of heat would do to it.

I shoulda gone running tonight but I didn't. Gonna get all fat again at this rate.

Axl, I considered that option, seriously. It's a 11-12 year old car at this point albeit less than 50k miles and a sports car that I've had one or another of since I was 18 or so. I thought there was nothing like a small convertible Euro/Asian roadster (although the S2000 was really pushing that issue with its top end of 165mph), but then I found the two wheel rides and everything on four gets neglected. I would have spent more since there are things I'd like to have in a new radio, like an aux input and cell integration. Finding the code and now having auto data backup on my netbook for the money I won at poker last night was well worth the effort.

On the national scene, you'll meet some really nice people but there's always that percentage that let the competition go to their heads. I did the national deal in pool a few years back and outlasted over 100 teams in route to finishing 17th. A great time, but that small minority I could have done without.

On why I actually came to post tonight, I caught this news story and couldn't believe it was real-

Eight million gallons of water drained from reservoir after man urinates in it - Telegraph

Now being the Mail in the UK, I thought perhaps it was a spoof, but no-

Portland reservoir urination raises few health or scientific concerns -- but it is pee | OregonLive.com

The comments are hilarious, but one caught my eye and not really article specific, "darn. I thought you were talking about the Pee Tarty, and Para Sailin for Pres! You have let me down again...
    typical Pee Tarty rhetoric..."

Axl I keep a can in there for a week or two at a time. Of course its better in the winter but I think it tastes ok. The grov black dries out fairly quick but the general mint seems to be holding up pretty good. It sure beats no snus. You can rehydrate a dried out portion. I've done it before.

I'm back from the cello hunt with my daughter. We checked one out on a trial basis for a week. It's quite a bit more expensive than what I was originally gonna spend but we're not 100% sure on this one yet. We have to go back next Saturday to return it or tell them that we want it. I'm not looking forward to taking money out of a mutual fund but don't have much choice if I want to buy it for her. I want her to have the best instrument that I'm able to provide for her. The wife was quite ...... off when she found out how much this one is. Either she'll get over it or not.

    Just tell her:
    " you can't put a price on art,Honey."
That should settle it down some.If not, feel free to tell her that you know someone who has more money tied up in guitars than most people spend on cars. If that doesn't do it -

I wish i had something more interesting to post than the regular b.s..

The weekly workload has consisted of repairing/rebuilding 3 guitars.
    woo...

the weekly snusload has consisted of offroad frosted with the odd general smooth or grov tossed in there.

on the upside, i have been riding alot. that's a great thing considering the doctors had told me i shouldn't be able to walk at one point - i'm actually debating about buying a shiny new bike as all the miles i'm putting in are beating my vintage ones up pretty bad.

hopefully i'll get sleepy soon. I put in probably 15 miles today and i'm still wide awake..
