woah. heavy stuff going on in these parts.

to try and lighten the mood....

Bears do, in fact, like cheeseburgers (even after they've been handled by idiots) :

People buy Burger King burgers to feed bears | 9news.com

and the band piglet broke up waaaay too soon:

that song always puts me in a better mood - i think it's more the "trying-to-figure-out-how-those-teenagers-got-so-good-so-quick" thing than the song though :?:

nothing on the agenda for the weekend here. The wifey had inventory at work this week and is still trying to catch up on sleep so we'll probably do some sleeping, coffee drinking and riding.

i picked up a "good" bike this week - it's not here yet though and i don't wanna count things before they get delivered unscathed so.......
more detail to come on that after i've sat on it.

just coming off 7 miles or so with

It's too bad it's so easy to learn stupid, although I think most bears know people mean food anyway, at least in a camping area. I was woke up more than once hearing trash cans banging in the middle of the night when I went.

Just realized when I came on here this morning that my last post was 2,000 on here. Time to post less so I don't catch up to Hitt.

No worry, no chance.

LOL! Congrats on number 2000, roth! Hey roth, just curious, but your sig says you've saved over 5k by not smoking. If you take into account ecig stuff and snus, what is the net? I'm not sure what my total savings is, maybe I'll figure that out one day soon.

Nice day for the pool today. I took the kids and we were there nearly four hours. I've got a great tan. I know tanning is evil and will kill me and bla bla bla but honestly, I look better tan.

Axl, that WAS the net before last week as you'll see the next time I update it. I've been tracking my purchases since about the six month mark and knew what I had spent (appx) in the first six months. Like everyone the I've read posts from, those first few months were almost break even with the initial mistake (Blu, not bad but wasn't nearly as good as a manual 510) then buying a lot of cheap 510's and parts for the potential ban and plenty of liquid. After finding snus, my only expense has been my stock (massive right now) and my Chuck which ended any worries about batteries.

Of course I mentioned this week. I think Hitt said something about a PV that he was looking at, one of those fancy multi-amped varieties and I sort of chuckled to myself. Then I placed my Snus Central order of almost $300 to get the free shipping and my new toys. That wasn't bad enough, I decided I wanted to try a new PV after hearing about the tank mods so I checked them out and focused in on the old and new. I decided I wanted to try a Screwdriver with the tank conversion but they were about $100 and sold out at TW so I kind of forgot about it when I decided to buy the snus,

THEN IT HAPPENED! They were restocked at TW and TW had a 30% off Fourth sale. Now $99 was only around $66 and I couldn't resist plus I bought 2 (gf is trying again) and got some spare parts so there went another $183. I've been in an awful spending mood lately. Bought a new 7.2 surround sound AV receiver and am close to pulling the trigger on a new helmet.

Anyway, I was spending about $300 a month for smokes before this journey so all in all it still isn't too much of a hit on the bottom line. Though it looks like I'm dropping below $5K but I should be back on track in August and still save enough to cover my birthday scoot by year's end. Unless I go crazy again.

Before I forget, I made a three notch portion before heading out for poker today. I think two will be perfect. I made it long but it felt long and fat. Half a small teabag should be perfect for me. I had it in for 3-4 hours with no leakage issues what so ever.

Wow roth you are on a spending frenzy. I ended ip not buying the provari when I found out how much my daughter's cello was going to be. It seems like the kids need something every time I think about buying something for myself. I have two screwdrivers but not the new one with the tank fitting. I always buy mine from Trog.

Good morning. Did everyone sleep in today? I was up about 7:45. I just can't sleep in any more. I'm gonna take the kids in a little bit to get some fireworks. I did an inventory last night and we have quite a bit left from last year. We shouldn't need a lot more.

Morning. I was up even earlier, around 6, that's life when you have three dogs, Especially if one is an alpha Golden Doodle. He never takes no for an answer. It was raining slightly and still cool out so I took the opportunity to close up the house and turn the AC on before I'd need to cool down the house and before the humidity set in. I prefer the around 72 but set it at 75 for the gf. Right now I'm happy since it's already mucky out and goint to 90 today.

After everything settled down I watched a bit of news and fell back to sleep. I think today is going to be a lazy one. I'm pretty much off for the summer from the thrift store since they hired a guy and a teacher is in as summer help. I've been a fixture for about five years. It's time for a break.

It sounds like you are due for a break roth. Good time to do it too with summer here. I took the kids for fireworks this morning and have to run a couple errands. The oldest is going to a b-day party and then has play practice from 6-11 tonight. I hate the late night pick ups but at least I don't have to work tomorrow.

Welcome to the world of the living gutter.

Roth I forgot to mention I did buy a cheap mod on the classifieds. It's called a thermo which is an aluminum tube mod with a recessed button on the bottom and it will fit either a 3.7 battery or two 3 volts for 6v. I got it for 22 bucks.

Nice deal Hitt. I checked it out and it looks nice though I don't know much about the DSE-801 atty.

Holiday could have turned ugly. I had scooted to the local farmer's market and grocery store for food for the next two days. I was approaching the entrance to a campground as I saw some woman coming out. I glanced at her and she appeared distracted by the kids in the car. I reached for the breaks just as she entered the road. She must have heard my braking or caught me in her peripheral vision, but a look of horror as my fron wheel was a foot from her car.

She said "I'm terrible sorry". I just shook my head. I would have been a lot sorrier had I not been keeping an eye on what she was doing.

It's been a lazy day for me too. I got up, did some stuff, napped, and now I'm moving around again cuz I don't want the hubby to suspect I've been slacking all day while he's been at work. Not that he cares really, I just don't like to give him any ammo.

Hitt, I know you've probably already mentioned several times, but which mods do you currently use? Just curious. When I vaped I used V4L stuff pretty much exclusively until all their cartos started smelling like rosewater. I quit vaping shortly thereafter.

Jeez Roth - that was a close one. I'd imagine your birdie finger was rather itchy, eh...
    :)

Today was cool - we rode our bikes to the fireworks stand and picked up some fireworks and shot a few bottlerockets and roman candles tonight.
the wife hit the sack and i went for my nightly ride - i got in right at 9 miles in just under 40 minutes. There's 4 pretty brutal hills on my route and i think for a heavy, single speed bike and just being back on it for the last few weeks, my time is right on track.I don't want to roadrace or anything but a sustained speed of 18 miles an hour or so would be nice.

cooling off and thinking about the upcoming week's work with:

Hey Gutter, if you can get anywhere near 18 mph, even on that short a distance, you'll be doing really well, depending on how hilly it is with those heavier bikes. I got a little better than that on short runs on my road bike on rolling hills near my house over about a 10 mile stretch, but I'd have to be time trialing it. 15 was about the best I could do without working it hard. Those times dropped to 12-13 over say a 25 mile plus distance.

    I found this thread-

My average speed cycling should be? [Archive] - Bike Forums and Avevage mph during a ride? [Archive] - Bike Forums

The second thread makes some good points- headwinds and tailwinds make a big difference as well as traffic and stop signs. Just go out and enjoy the ride.

Axl, ran across this fairly new thread, that we all should post to-

    http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ulator-here-please-add-your-data-list-18.html
(not sure if that will give you the OP or last entry since I order mine last to first)

Anyway, I entered mine based on my total quit day in Feb 2010 instead of seriously reduced seven months earlier. At $6 per pack since I stopped to pick up a pack for my gf yesterday and paid $6.50 it calculated $ 7,556.36 saved. I think I'm using $5 in my spread sheet which would be more like $6,300 meaning I spent about $1,200 on my othere tobacco vices over that time which seems about right before this week.

With only 455 registered to the thread there is a $855,315.45 reduction in BT and excise tax indicated and 3,115,935 less cigarettes smoked. Let's just assume that was a million smokers converted to E cigs or snus. The numbers would be $1.879b not raised by cigarette sales (let alone the money not spent on NRT products) and 6.848b less cigarettes smoked.

No wonder they will do whatever they can to keep smokers smoking. If half the smokers went smokeless, what would the ?non-profit?"health" association do?

hitt, careful with that thermo. The CR123's are actualy over 3v. Two of them gives you a close to 7v vape. Fries anything you put it it. Make sure you have a high voltage atty, or you will burn your juice and blow your atty in pretty short order. I tried it when I first got mine. Not a pleasant experience given my standard atties. I can wrap a Bulli A2 to work on it, but I like it better at 4-5 coils/3.7v. Lasts all day with the single long battery at 3.7.

On a pleasant note........I had steak yesterday!!!!!!! Yay for me and being able to eat solid food.
