I'm kind of interested to know how exactly your first weeks when attempting to switch from stinkies was. Were you thrilled with the vape experience and rocket away from stinkos? Did it take a few weeks of going back and forth? What was the defining moment? Was it a particular eliquid that did it? Are you still not there? Was it just the right eliquid? Did you after a couple of weeks or months light up a stinky and realize, hey I REALLY don't want these anymore? Or are you 90% vape and still crave a stinky? Immediate switch or did it take time? Was it just the right flavour blend that did it? Please share your switch over experiences here. Would love to know

I first got word of ecigs when I was in a mall in Charlotte, NC just a couple of months after I had a heart attack (at age 33) in 2010.

It was the standard digi-cig style with only 1 flavor that wasn't very good, but I decided to give it a shot anyways. Those first few months were tough, and I cheated with analogs a bunch. After about 6 months I had fallen off the wagon and started smoking again. Then I found Vapor4Life (because I was feeling terrible) and did well with that for a few months until my batteries started not functioning and I was constantly having "post" problems. I again started cheating with analogs. Just a couple a week at first, then a couple a day, and finally I was back to almost a pack a day. I bought new batteries and carts again from Vapor4Life, but wasn't successful in quitting completely.

Then last September, after months of smoking full-time, I decided that enough was enough. I have 2 kids and a beautiful wife to live for and didn't want to depart from them any earlier than need be, so I quit again. At first I was using my V4L stuff with good success, then I didn't use anything. After a few weeks of cold turkey I was feeling cravings again (it's tough when your friends smoke) so I decided to see if vaping had gotten any more advanced. I had become somewhat disenchanted with the digi-cig style vaporizers and had seen a news story with all manner of fancy looking ecigs. So I did some research and bought a Halo set. It works great but is incompatible with virtually every tank available so I went to AltSmoke and got a couple of eGo Twist style batteries and a couple of Protanks. The rest is history. Now I'm looking for my first mechanical MOD that I can set my newly ordered Russian 91% RBA on top of.

Just wanted to try it & had NO intention of quitting. Thot it would help when travelling for business or just not convenient to smoke. Gradually replaced over 10 days. Got down to 2 analogs & then decided...Y not quit? It was shockingly easy. I think the key is to not pressure yourself. Take your time, smoke if you need to. It will happen. Let your body make the change - trust yourself to do this. Best of luck to you!

On the third day I lit a cigarette just out of habit. I immediately snuffed it out and left it laying in the ash tray. It sat there for hours, looking at me forlornly, wondering why I had turned my back on an old friend. Finally, I picked it up, lit it and smoked it. That was my epiphany. I realized that I didn't want it, and didn't need it. It was no better than vaping.

Wife tried to get me to switch by using blu e cigs. Hated them they tasted like pool water and lacked nic. Went back to stinks for awhile then friend gave me a ego kit. Worked better than the blu but not by much. Finally decided to get an Aspire bdc and was better. From there moved onto MVP v2 with an iClear 30. And it has just gone nuts from there. Currently starting on making own juice. I think I an hooked.

I smoked heavily for over 45 years. By that I mean, if I wasn't sleeping, I was smoking. Probably 2 packs a day. I never tried to quit, because I secretly didn't think I could. So I just kept smoking, and smoking. But I thought a lot about quitting.

I had seen some commercials on TV about the Blu cigarettes, and thought they looked interesting. So on New Years Day, 2014, I stopped in my local Walgreen Drug and bought a Blu starter kit. I came home pretty excited about it, but really scared, too. I wanted it to work, but what if it didn't? Then I was doomed to smoke for all eternity.:)

I charged it up and puffed away. I told myself "You will not have nicotine cravings, because this is giving you the nicotine you need." I felt a little anxious, but nothing so strong as a craving. It actually seemed to be working, and I didn't light up a cigarette. I kept using the Blu with success, not smoking at all, for a few days. I did have it in my hand constantly, and it bothered me that the batteries didn't last long. I spent most of my time charging them, terribly afraid I would smoke if they quit working altogether.

I had come to the conclusion that the e cigarette concept might work to keep me from smoking, so I got on the internet and found this wonderful forum. I read for hours that first night, and decided I needed something better than the Blu if I was going to do this long term.

Following the good advice I got here, I got an ego starter kit and some juice at a local vape shop. It was so amazing to use, after fiddling with the Blu's. I jumped right into my vaping adventure and haven't looked back.

It's been nearly 3 months since I bought that Blu starter kit, and I haven't smoked a cigarette since!

My daughter gave me a cigarette-looking e-cig a couple of years ago. This last November, I finally tried to quit smoking and the cig look-alike wasn't cutting it so I bought an SVD for $80, plus batteries and a charger. I was doing great for a week till something went wrong with the rechargeable batteries, -I panicked and went a bought a pack of cigarettes. Picked up new batteries that afternoon and I haven't smoked a cigarette since then, -4 months ago. The e-cig gave me a good way to go. My smoker's hack went away after a couple of days and my sense of smell came rushing back as well. I've since bought an Itaste MVP and numerous clearomizers. My favorite is the Nautilus Aspire, of which I have two. I've spent considerably more money than if I'd have kept smoking but it's beginning to level off. I couldn't get the same juices I started with and ended up trying and throwing away a lot of juices. So I began mixing my own. When you make your own e-juice, it's so inexpensive it's practically free!

About the time I bought my last pack of cigs, I bought a V2 cigalike from the gas station. By the time I got to the end of the pack, I was only smoking 1 a day. Learned how to refill the cartos with juice. Last cig smoked was January 10th. Now have ego twists and a Vamo V5. HD.

Just started about 2-3 weeks ago. Been cutting down my intake of cigarettes to 3-5 sticks a day. Just purchased a mech mod and rba few days ago. Been tinkering with the setup and finally voila... had the most satisfying vape ever. For the first time in my life, I didn't feel the need to grab a cigarette. Threw away my pack of cigarettes and started my first day of "no analogs".

My wife and I got our first ego's from our son for Christmas. He talked to us a little before deciding to get them for us. He and his wife had quit smoking and were vaping full time. We discussed it and decided we would give it a try with the idea that maybe we could cut down to a minimal amount of analogs a day. It worked out very well, he gave us all the E-juice that he had bought and didn't like, plus had us look at the website for his local B & M and pick some flavors we wanted to try. All in all we ended up with over 30 to ml bottles at Christmas. I immediatly loved it. I cut down to about 4 or 5 analogs a day then one morning when I got up and made the coffee I just picked up my ego instead of an analog, and haven't had one since. My wife was a little more stubborn about completely quitting. She hung on at two analogs a day for about another two weeks, then we ran out of analogs, she didn't even say much she just didn't get any. Two weeks into my freedom we had out biggest test. we went to a birthday party with pizza and beer. Never even noticed any difference, besides i don't think i would have had time to smoke anyway. I spent almost the entire party explaining and talking about E-cigs and quitting the real killer. Right after my wife quit she asked for an APV. I had already gotten an SVD, so we got her a Vamo V3. She loves it.

I was down to 1/2 pack a day when I got my eVod kit and my bottles of 18 and 12mg nic juices. I was lucky, I guess, in that when I first tried the 18 mg juice, I found that I got more of a nicotine high from that than I had been getting from an real cigarette. I've only had 3 or 4 drags off a real cigarette since then - and that was about 3 weeks later, when I just wanted to see what a cigarette tasted like. It was really, really terrible, and I haven't looked back since.

My quit date was September 19, 2013.

I started with a cig-a-like, and knew I had found something that would work on getting of smokes. When I finished that last of the pack I had I then did nothing but vape. Then I picked up an ego and glassomizer, because I felt I was missing something. The I found the ECF, and learned what was possible, bought my first regulated then shortly after my first rba, re-buildable atomizer. I now own 4 mechanicals and 3 high amp regulated mods along with enough rba's to top everything. Also got into DIY juice along the way.

In my search for something more, have learned a lot about all aspects of vaping. I've taken my vape to the point where no burning tree limb could ever replace the satisfaction and joy I get from vaping. Have to admit, when I first saw everything that could be done, never thought I'd be doing half the stuff I do for my vape. Just kind of grew on me I guess. lmao.

This.

Ecigs work, but you have to let them work.

I haven't had an analog in a while, but at this point it's so seldom, and only under particular circumstances, that I simply refuse to feel any worse about the very occasional analog I have than I do about the occasional drink I have, especially considering how nasty I find them now.
