just an FYI...I found out yesterday that Mac is indeed the notorious Dr. Morbid. My offer to join Macs cause has been retracted. I will continue my efforts to eradicate any and all zombies for the survival of the human race. That was sneaky Mac, and I will be more cautious in the future.

Okay, so last night I'm watching TV and on pops a commercial for Zombieville. It turns out MTV is cashing in on the zombie trend (and ripping off Dead Set) to make a Z-themed Real World... The commercial looked promising in a B-movie way, but time will tell if it's worth watching. Just thought I'd let anyone who hadn't seen the commercials know that it's coming.

Well there's good news and bad news... The good news is that "Real World: Zombieville" is part of their Truth anti smoking campaign and won't be made into a real series. The bad news is that MTV IS making a zombie/vampire/werewolf show called Death Valley where two girls will battle the undead over running San Fernando Valley...

Oh, and it looks like NBC has greenlighted Zombies vs Vampires for TV. It's a buddy cop series...

I guess I'll have to start checking wall-mart for t-shirts soon.

:p

Way to take one for the team, whynot! Thanks for slogging through all that dreck for us, it must heve been painful. You'll probably never get that smell out of your browser... Man, I hate TV!

It's not TV, it's EMPTY V!

I have high hopes and low expectations for most of the zombie based shows that NBC/SYFI are going to recycle but the Walking Dead should prove a winner. AMC has been on fire the last couple years putting out top notch shows that push the envelope of 'basic cable'. Breaking Bad still has me holding my breath!

Anything good enough that you would recommend buying the DVD? That's about the only way I can tolerate it. I'm not a snob about it, I just lose interest during commercials (they make me want to break things). I don't have basic cable, either.

Every season of Breaking Bad. The only reason I can think of not to get it is if you have an aversion to seeing people cooking/using ..... The whole series so far puts me in mind of Trainspotting, you come away from it not really sure if they're saying to do it or are they saying NOT to do it... No one can say it doesn't show the draw or the consequences of an individual's actions! I didn't get into Mad Men so I can't say it's good/bad, but it IS winning awards. I'm starting to get into Rubicon now but it's almost a little TOO conspiracy theory for my tastes. I'm an 'X-Files' YES!, 24/Lost NO! kind of guy. Lost was ludicrous, and 24 should have stayed a mini series that ended after.... wait for it.... 24 flippin' hours!

The only other 'recent' series I could recommend for purchase would be Dexter, this last season was a freaking MONSTER. I don't know if they can maintain, much less improve on it and the finale actually dropped my jaw. Maybe I'm getting slow and old but I had every other aspect pegged early on (it's a curse), but not that... I don't get 'got' too often but they got me.

Oh, and commercials aren't a snob thing, I hate them too. That's one of the good things about DVR's or On Demand, the ability to fast forward and rewind if you miss something.

We get each season of Dexter the instant that box hits the shelves. That's something we both love to watch, and so do some of our friends. We've had Dexter Fests: basically a BBQ/drunken binge/Dexter all day on the big screen in my buddies "Man Cave" kind of get-togethers.

She got into Lost, so I semi-watched some of it, while mostly doing other things (Internet, usually). I guess i'm a Lost-NO/XFiles-NO kinda guy. I knew after the first couple of episodes that the ending would be a giant, stinking rip-off. I was expecting one of the old "it was a dream/God did it/It was magic" kind of wrap-ups, so I didn't invest anything into it. She watches a lot of stuff that I have no interest in. Yay, Internet.

I'll have to check Breaking Bad out, thanks for the heads up! I vaguely remember seeing/hearing something about it, but it's been under my radar. I really liked Trainspotting, and Snatch is one of my favorite movies. If anyone is reading this, and you haven't seen Snatch, go rent it tonight!

and of course, i have my "zombie" gun, which is basically a single shot 12, cut down to the shortest legal length
Taking that, my .380, 100 12ga shells, 50-75 .380 rounds, a couple of 'Rambo' style survival knives, drive to a nearby dealership and 'borrow' a motorcycle (have to quickly maneuver around the killer traffic jams on the highways as everyone flees more populated areas, they are gunna be a freakin' zombie buffet), take the bike out to a piece of land my family owns out in the sticks (about an hour drive without zombies trying to eat my brains). There I have a decent 6-8 wk survival kit, including my .22 with several hundred rounds, lots of little furry things to eat, and a spring fed stock pond out back. Acquire additional food and ammo as needed by any means necessary... I have a couple of friends out that way, but I would only trust them with a gun trained on them for as long as supplies are low... Better to lay low and mostly play home d....
