This is my 4th build since ive had my Reo. The first was 28g 12-13 wraps it was like 1.8 or something. Wasnt happy with it so I swapped to a 30g 9 wrap at almost 2 ohm wrapped around a blunt needle. I didnt like that I had to use a tiny bit of cotton and would dry hit after 1 hit.
Scapped that and built another that I didnt like so I built this one this morning. A 28g 9 wrap around the smallest micro screwdriver in my kit. (Dont know what size it is but irs what I use to build ALL my other coils with: protank, kfl+, etc) meters out at 1.2 ohms. This thing is vaping like a beast!!

Its the best one ive made yet! Solid vapor and perfect throat hit! Boba's and Gorilla Juice can hit harsh sometimes but this evened it out and has tons of flavor!! Think I have a winner!! Plus its about the prettiest coil ive made so far!

Reading this thread I can see why Rob redesigned the Grand for sub-ohming.
For my VV Grand, both of them, I use a 1/16th drill bit and usually try 11- 12 wraps for a desired 2.0 ohms.
For my woods, I use a 1/16th bit and about 9 wraps or so for a desired 1.5- 1.7 ohms.
My Grand and my Mini 2.1 are my 'at work' Mods, they live a rough life. For these Mech's I use a 3/32 drill bit and go 8-9 wraps to try for a 1.5- 1.7 ohms.
I have both 28g and 29g A-1 Kanthal on hand, whichever one I happen to pick up at the time. I always try for Super X's style of micro coils, and I always preheat then gently squeeze the coils together with tweezers. And always use Cotton wicking.
For me personally, I don't reach for cloud size or Throat Hit. I prefer a cooler, smoother vape.
