And you did a fabulous job! [emoji6] the chuck on my power drill doesn't tighten down good on the allen wrench thingy and it goes a flyin. Lol

Edit:thought about trying it with my dremel. Wonder if that would work?

I think dremel is too fast unless it's got variable speed. Maybe on low speed, I dunno.

It has a variable speed but it may not be low enough. I'll just stick with the pen and pliers method. It actually works pretty good. Don't want things to fly around at high speeds. LOL

Hi there Reoville,

I tried my hand at a new build today and thought I would post some pics to get a little feedback. I'm always looking to improve my vape game, so any pointers would be awesome.

Anyway, this was my first time attempting to twist 28g Kanthal and I think it turned out pretty good. I did 7 wraps on a 5/64th drill bit, ohms out a .78. The flavor is insane, which I'm really surprised at because all my builds on the RM2 have tasted amazing. Hard to improve on perfection, but I think I did it justice. :)

Nice lookin' build there lady! As mentioned before, pull it a bit closer to the edge. Outstanding job for a first time! Love the twisted builds!

This is the method that I use and it works well! Had a minor mishap with a power drill the first time I tried so I went this route. LOL

A lot of people seem to like it and seems to help them, but my video is here

I know this irrelevant to your twisted video, but if you wrap a wide rubber band around your wire spool you can easily pull out the amount you need, cut it, and not have the spool try to unravel on you. Saves time as you won't have to tuck that loose end somewhere.

And yes, sloth, another rubber band trick :)

Haha I know it would, or use the little Styrofoam piece like Super X uses. I only have problems with it when I want to do a video with it haha. Funny how a camera makes me clumsy with it.

Rebuilt my Odin today with twisted 28g, 7 wraps around a leuer lock syringe, at .45 ohms it's a nice warm and flavorful vape, love it! This was my first time using twisted wire in the Odin, and the positive post-hole is juuust big enough for two leads to go through. While the heat up time is pretty good, it could a little better, so I'll probably go with one less wrap next time.

Hmm, might have to get back into 'novelty' builds. All the RTAs I tried 'em on—Taifun GS (aka Mini), R91, Kayfun V4—had puny little posts with round-bottomed screw heads that made it hard-to-impossible to capture the twisted coil wire. Gave it up & went back to single-strand 28ga microcoils, but soon I'll have another RM2 to play with, and I'm guessing the thread-through-the-post design might make it feasible...

Thanks for the inspiration! :toast:

Make that a continuous coil..meaning one wire ( twisted ) making two sets of coils..It was called a Sleeper Build by the ....waffle..I'll look it up and post it.

ETA

Sorry to post two ....waffle videos in one thread..(in RipTrippers voice) wooooooooooo whoooooooooooo yeeeeeeeah buddy this IS A CONTINUOUS BUILD!

You will get consistent power to each coil this way. The POS trapping one lead for two coils. ;)

You're welcome! I did a twisted 26g coil for my husbands Lemo last night and it was a Royal PITA! I will have to rethink my strategy before attempting that again. The RM2 was about 1000x easier to thread, I actually found the twisted wire easier to work with than standard Kanthal. Probably going to stick with this build for a while, well this build minus a few wraps ;) at least until I perfect it.

Thanks everyone for all the feedback!!! I definitely learned a few new tricks thanks to this thread. I'm also super psyched about the peeps who tried out a new build because of it, that is a righteous side effect. :D

....waffle...you'll have to give me sec to recover from my laughing fit

I've heard of sleeper builds but never knew what they were, that's pretty ingenious though, and it looks like something I can do. Thanks for mentioning it! I'll give it a shot next time I rebuild.

Brother this is a Sleeper Build..RiP has his facts confused..I was surprised given he keeps on on TECH pretty well.

You can build this in a twisted version as well.

Yeah, the RDA's we run with reos are muuuuuch more accommodating for twisted. No tiny chimney or narrow posts to deal with, no fussy air flow placement. I came to hate the kayfun-style build deck.

Yes and most of us build the Flavor Coil as a single set anyway. Usually around .8ohm to .5ohm..Any hotter defeats the purpose. IMHO it's the most flavorful coil yet.
