When did you realize you were no longer a smoker?

I was and have always been quite aware of the way smell cigarette smoke clings to everything. Even though I enjoyed smoking I hated the smell and what it was doing to me.

It was the third day of vaping.
I had an itch and went to rub my nose... I realized my hand didn't stink like cigarette butts.
My inner child had a big smile :D and I couldn't help but feel I've done it, I have my reason... I don't smoke anymore.

I, quit the day I walked out of the B&M after buying my starter kit. It was about 10 days after that I woke up and hadn't charged my battery. It died before I made it through my first cup of coffee. I panicked, thought about my security pack I had stashed away, thought again, decided to take a long hot shower and give it a little charge time. I, called in late for work and headed to the B&M. I haven't been without a back up since and Dec. 6, will be 1 year absolutely smoke free not even a puff. :toast:

I smoked my last cigarette on the way to the dentist after my crown fell out :p I can't imagine how disgusting that must have been for them working on me when I smelled like *THAT*. I've had my two regular six-month checkups since then, and I know they aren't getting grossed out by my "tobacco breath".

I'd been vaping/smoking for about a month prior, and I'd come to the conclusion that I wasn't going to spend any more money on cigarettes when I'd already spent so much on vaping stuff. About a month after my last smoke, I no longer awoke hacking up a lung. My sinuses are clearer, and I believe my sense of taste has dramatically improved.

I've been tempted a number of times. One of my coworkers (my former smoking buddy) still wanders out for his periodic cig. I've been tempted to bum one from him, but the thought of a non-menthol (even when I was a smoker) gags me.

One day at a time; one hour at a time; sometimes one minute at a time :)

I started with the crap you can buy at a gas station but was not ever satisfied at all and would have started with the analogs again like I had twice before when trying to quit...Lucky for me this time I decided to hit my local B&M before switching back to analogs and they talked me into buying the iTaste VV V3 with the Nautilus Mini...Well I ran home and set everything up and half way through the first tank of Grape Soda 24mg e-juice I knew I would never go back to analogs or any tobacco for that matter. That was 5 months ago yesterday and I have not cheated once...I smoked 2 packs of Marlboro reds since I was around 14 yrs old, I just turned 49 this year...Now all my e-juice is 3 mg and I think I will stay at this level for ever....

I love everything about vaping...My wife gives me a hard time about all I did was swap one addiction for another....:)

I have slowly upgraded my equipment as money permits and have in the last month moved to using RDA's and I realized that I have been chasing clouds my whole life....:) I sure wish they had these things 35 years ago when I started smoking....and maybe I would have never even used tobacco.

Live long and keep your vape on!:vapor:

I had my mind made up already when I went to my local vape shop. When I walked out the door with my MVP, knowing what I'll be upgrading to and tinkering with in the future, that was all she wrote. I threw a pack minus 3 cigs in the trash and haven't looked back.

Being a natural born tinkerer, there's no way I could go back to the boring routing of spinning a wheel and smoking a cig.

I can wear same clothe for 3 days in a row.

I can use vape clouds to cover up my farts.

I cant remember the last time i was cranky.

My dog loves sniffing new juices that comes in the mail as much as i do.

I spent my time on the toilet looking for best deals on juice and hardware.

I get more exercise twice day, by shaking over a dozen bottles of juice to improve their flavor during steeping.

People stand closer to me because I smell better; co-workers, friends, random people in the metro or public places.

I still consider myself a smoker to be honest, and probably always will be. Plan on having cigars every now and then, but going to stop buying a pack every day.

I noticed after the first month I wasn't trying to ash my pen in between running to classes at Uni.
I noticed the smell after two weeks when I was giving someone a ride who smoked right before getting in and I could smell the Marlboro immediately.
I noticed the taste about 3 week after picking up vaping, I think I got Vape Tongue from what my friend told me when I asked him about it.

I "quit" smoking by switching to Skoal and Copenhagen but always had the urge and cheated once and a while by buying a pack and smoking two or three and then tossing the pack out the window while driving so I would not be tempted to suck down the whole pack.

From the first day I bought my first cheap Ego and CE4 and el-cheapo juice I have never even wanted a cig.

I consider that quit.

About five years ago I bought a cheap starter kit online and tried to quit, but the kit broke within a few months, so I went back to cigarettes. Back in May of this year I was walking down the street and noticed a vape shop had opened up right by my apartment. Went in, bought a smok starter kit, and never looked back. Now I have moved onto RDA's and building my own coils for my mechanical mod, and haven't thought about having a real cigarette in months. They smell disgusting.

Clothes, car, fresh air smell when you walk into the house, being able to smell flowers and trees and dirt when you walk outside, cars don't stink anymore (traded in both the smelly ones!), being able to start lifting weights and riding the stationary bike again, not having to go outside to smoke.

There are so many changes that occur in you life when you can the cigs and just vape. Even my doctor is happy. He hasn't said one negative word about my vaping. He used to grill me about smoking on every visit.
