If I may.... I am new to this site and have asked a couple questions in the new member forum.
I think there has to be a degree of accountability in being new and taking the time to check out the resources this forum provides. I found a wealth of info and read for like 3 days straight. I then ordered my first kit and asked some clarifying questions based on what wasn't clear to me from my own research.
I feel everyone was very helpful to me. I am impressed with the threads on see on this board and moreso by the veterans/senior members that are kind and helpful in their responses.
All in all even if you are new, take some time to read the sticky's, look on youtube for videos and scan the threads. If you are educated at least to a point, you can ask more specific questions and get better answers.\
Thanks everyone for all of your help over the last couple of days!

This is the most oft overlooked piece of advice. There are answers here, if you put in some effort seeking them out.

Thanks so much for this, Big Chief. I get so frustrated watching the mod brigade sometimes, and the way they handle newbies.
They just want something that works, for not a lot of money, that will help them reduce or get off cigs. Easy peasy. Easy peasy answers.

Yep. Don't know if there's a sticky or thread along the lines of "Simple but workable starter kits," but that's what I needed when I started digging. For example, once I understood that there were two and three-piece setups, I knew I wanted a two-piece, but Google searches tend to bring up what I now know to be well-known outfits who seem to specialize in selling high-price, lower performing equipment to the less savvy.

Had I understood, for example, that the Kr8 was one of the generic two-piece models that many find perform well enough to satisfy, are readily sourced from various vendors, etc., I would have had an easier time than I did slogging through seller's websites, some of which are low on the technical details and high on the basic, "It's a magical way to 'smoke!' " type of marketing. Even when I understood that I wanted a "cartomizer," it wan't that easy to find a vendor. Extant YouTube videos add to the confusion as well, as some are terrific and informative, and some are either wildly out-of-date or simple marketing junk.

This forum is the best source out there, but "Keep it Simple" is great advice for advising people looking at this stuff for the first time. Your contributions in a particular are excellent in this regard.
