Your coil needs replaced if it gives a burnt taste or is not as airy a vape as it started out at, or it excessively floods and can't be corrected by tightening everything down. Sometimes you can extend the life of your coils by rinsing in hot water and then soaking in alcohol and rinsing well again, then let dry. I used to do this but the coils still would not last much longer. If the coil isn't burnt but you feel it clogged up, you can up your wattage a little at a time to increase the use. But if your cotton gets burnt taste, just toss it.
I like RDA's too but it takes practice to get a good vape on the little rba decks, so if you go that route, keep some spare pre-built coils on hand until you get your wicking down.
